Woke up late today, about 7:15am with minor headache and tummy was all growling non-stop. Was damn exhausted last night that I actually slumped onto the bed at 10:00am and slept like a log- Earliest ever since college has started. Usually it takes me about an hour or so just get sleepy before dozing off at 2:00am. Yesterday was the longest orientation day, and I would say that it was one of the best days ever throughout the whole orientation week.
Wednesday kicked off with a slow briefing and an introduction to all the student embassadors who willingly woke up at 6:30am in the morning just to manage the big bunch of us July intakes. Edmond, who happens to be my group assistant leader in yesterday’s activities, kept the speech short and simple. AMANDA, the name of the student here in LUCT who is currently doing her Mass Comm. Semester 7. *Drools* and lots more *Drools*
We were then given instructions on how to group ourselves into 10 teams (I think). Each person’s back has been pasted a paper with a name of a flying species. Mine’s dodo, and guess what? I’ve never heard of such bird species before! That’s a little embarassing. Then we had to look for a partner that will do the explanation and describe the name of the bird. So Edmund (Not Edmond) was like… “Neh… the one people usually use to scold others. Something to do with stupid… Idiot” I was still blur so Edmund decided to tell me the name which he wasn’t supposed to. Cheaters caught will have to stand on the stage. Hahahaha!
That was so shitty. True dodo I am. Then we began searching for the same species and that’s how we actually grouped up. Not a bad idea I guess, although it sounds kinda silly. Each group came up with like 15 members or so. And you know what? None of the student embassadors were actually asked to be the group leader for team Dodo! That was damn sad… And Edmond announce through the mic.. “What? Dodo no group leader? Who wants to volunteer then?” Everyone else was laughing at our team.. *Hides face*
Waited for like 5 minutes before a guy with broad shoulders and sharp features on his face approached us. Not a bad fella, with a sense of humour and most importantly very sociable. He can just strike a conversation with anybody regardless of what they are (meaning, male of female), and the courses they’re taking. Vicky’s his name, and comes all the way from Pakistan. Nice guy, with so many things to talk about.
Edmond came minutes later and joined our team as assistant. Another fun guy. In fact, I think ALL of them here in LUCT are easy-going, outspoken and sporting! And no, they gives no rat balls on who you are and where you come from. They swear right in front of you, and a lot. Believe that. I guess most of us are actually enjoying every single moment here in LUCT. The people here are sociable which makes you feel that gaps don’t even exist, which most of the time being caused by the age difference.
Next on, we had hairstyling competition whereby each team will have to choose a male and female model and then come up with a hairstyle that is capable of influencing the rest and makes them wanting to have the same style. It was pretty fun. We had Albert to be the male model and Mischell for the female. Right after that, a simple catwalk on the stage and a presentation. Hahahaha.
Had our lunch at 12pm and this time I tried the claypot chicken rice. GROSS! YUCKY! It was so dry and the rice’s still raw. The chef didn’t cook it properly cause I guess he was hurrying. Insufficient water so that’s why the rice turned out all hard and… tasted a little burned. No good no good. And flies over here in LUCT is such a total nuisance. Where in the hell do those flies come from!? It’s like so many of them!
We also had to come up with dance performance on the stage right in the middle of the MDTC. Oh my goodness! So freaking embarassing. It’s been such a long time since I last performed on the stage.. That was like 3 months ago, when I had to make a fool out of myself on the stage back in the National Service. However, we still managed to win the first prize for our crappy performance though.
Anyway, back to the dance performance… We had troubles deciding on which song to dance with, and the songs are very limited. We tried looking for suitable songs at the DJ booth but none of them seems appealing. Mostly RnBs and no, we can’t freestyle. Most of them in my team can’t even cope with 3 simple steps, what more than hip-hop or pop music? Took us 2 whole hours just to come up with 5 simple steps and we chose “Ja Rules- Clap Back” (something like that) So what we did was… clapping all the way till the end. Hahaha ;P
Other teams put up some rather interesting performances, from break dances to freestyle and Mr. Bean style o.O; All these lasted for one hour before we finally get to have FREE dinner using the coupon that was distributed to us earlier on. The results for both the dance and hairstyle competition were announced at 6:50pm and they were given prizes such as organizers, portfolio bags, leaflets, car stickers and Peacevolution CD.
I was already all drained up by then so I didn’t care much who the winners are. The winner of the dance competition was asked to dance again but then everyone started leaving so it was later canceled. Hahahaha. ;P Drove back and reached home about 7:15pm. So freaking tired that I had to drag my feet and crawl the way up back to my room. Showered and straight to bed.
Thought I was going to sleep all the way till morning but then Sarah suddenly called. Hehehe! Boss, it’s okay yah? I ain’t complaining cause I get bonus raise so.. ;P Went online and discussed about our trip to PWTC this Sunday for PC Fair. Wowee! Time to stock up on my CD-Rs. Chat chat chat and continue chatting until ended up sleeping at 1:30am.
As I’ve mentioned earlier on, that I woke up late this morning and blindly walked around and then into the bathroom and washed up. Came out with a bloody flu. Eish! Left the house at 7:40am today and was driving at an average speed of 70km/h so it took me about and hour to get there. Looked at the time and it was only 8:40am. It was still damn early! Got down and then walked around as usual.
Got my timetable already and looks pretty hectic. I’ll be in class GD1 and so few of us borned in the year 1986! The rest of them are in the foundation year as for us, we’ll be doing our Diploma straight away. Gonna be one hella roller coaster ride for the next 15 weeks. Arhh! Came back home early today cause I didn’t want to go tour around Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, solely organized by the campus. Edmund went home early cause he wasn’t feeling very well and my new friends weren’t present, so blah~
More to blog tonight, so check back yeah?
