Finally ‘Nineteen’ .. Two Years More to Go

28 August 2005

Apparently, I have two assignments due this coming week yet I sat through the day watching The OC in front of the computer instead. And to be exact, one is to be handed in by tomorrow with me having only completed like 40% of it. Gah… and the other one the following day. College life is starting to get ‘interesting’, no?

Well, I guess it wasn’t such a bad weekend considering I had sorta like a pre-birthday and after-birthday party with the unusual group of people I barely even know. Surprisingly, everything turned out pretty good instead and so I guess that’s what made the outings all fun and worth it. Win Szn, (I forgot how his name is spelt but then again..) who used to be my classmate back in primary years in Sri KL, was present and they actually know one another. Joel’s friend, Teck Hua was there as well so that kinda made us both feel not-so out of place. What a small world indeed.

My weekend sorta like started on Thursday night as Chin Ju and Rachel headed off to Luna Bar along with Joel and I being there for the very first time. Quite an impressive place to chill out with friends and not forgetting the breathtaking views of the city skyline as well. Nothing much to complain about that place except for the price of drinks served and early closure at 1am. Total mood spoiler, bah!

Chin Ju kinda like had everyone informed about Thursday night’s outing so it wasn’t much of a surprise to see one big bunch of people who were there much earlier than us. And due to unforseen circumstances, we got there much later than initially planned. It was 12am by that time and everyone seemed pretty tipsy already. I bought myself the most expensive beer ever for RM21 and went on to try Chin Ju’s favourite Red Bull Chivas and round things up with a Melon Ball shot. Tasted like one of those vibrant coloured bubble gums you find in supermarket vendor machines.

I havent event got myself into the mood yet when we had to leave cause the bar closes at 1am, as mentioned in the above paragraph. So off we headed to SS2 Murni for supper! Famous for it’s Roti Hawaii, half of the people actually ordered the same food while I decided to stick with my Indo-mee goreng. Yihaur then came over and gave us mind-wrenching logical question to make our night as dreadful one. Joel and Chin Ju had no problems solving it except for me as I spent almost an hour trying to figure out the answer, which I eventually did, of course ;P

I don’t exactly remember the names of every single of them but it surely was an enjoyable night. Reached home around 4:30am and to my horror, dad was wide awake and watching television. Got into trouble but I was too sleepy to actually remember what he mumbled when I was walking up the flight of stairs which seemed like forever to reach my room. Eventually skipped the morning class the following day but doesn’t really matter since it’s only Photography II. Mark told me that they didn’t so much either. Thank goodness for not putting my good sleep to waste.

And so we had another outing at Chin Ju’s place last night. A booze party. Yihaur, Terence, Ansen(Anson), Win Szn(?), Teck Hua, Kah Wai, Kay Hong, E Guy, Nigel, Jeffry, Weng Hoe, Wan Foong(?), Barry, William, Joel and so many others which I don’t really remember. It was whole lotsa fun as we played the Indian poker which resulted in us finishing 2 bottles of Hennessy and 1 bottle of Black Label in an hour interval. I had quite a bit and stayed sober throughout the whole night. Thank goodness. Many were left stoning and sleeping on couches and floor when Joel and I left at 2:30am. Thought of finishing the remaining bottle of Hennessy but then again, everyone else was either gone or sleeping already so, oh well..

And to say the least, I guess I had the best birthday ever in such a long time and much love and thanks to all those who wished me before and after 26th. Doesn’t really matter to me as long as you did :) Penny being such a sweetie came up with a rather interesting birthday greeting for me, which you can find in her blog. Hahahaha nevermind the pictures cause I looked horrendous in those! Thanks again!

It’s getting late and I’m too lazy to actually add in any more of the informations that I might have missed out on but obviously, there were so much more that happened other than what I have covered in this post; both good and bad ones. I seriously need to get to work on the assignments now… Hey wait, Manchester United is playing against Newcastle United now! Ohohohoho, football time… Ciao!

Now that Recharge@R3VELATION is over..

23 August 2005

Now that Recharge@R3VELATION is over..

.. There will no longer be any other events to look forward to except maybe for Scott Bond of Gatecrasher who will be spinning on the 23rd September at Zouk Kuala Lumpur. Pulser will be down in KL as well on Merdeka Eve day but I’m doubtful on paying him a visit cause I reckon the city is going to be jam packed and .. in a total mess. Will be out for family dinner this coming Thursday in conjunction with my 19th birthday! Shit, time sure flies like WTF! No big plans for birthday as usual so probably am going to stay at home and.. stone.

.. We will have to wait till year 2006 for the next big event cause’ apparently, I was told that the Government limits such major outdoor parties to only two occasions annually. A bit the sad, right? So there, we had Zoukfest and the recent R3VELATION already. I guess Regenerate: Red Zone and Thirst Asia Finals weren’t counted because both the events were relatively small in particular terms. ZOUKOUT, anyone?

.. I will have to shift up a gear or two for the next 10 weeks in hopes of coming up with good results for this current tormenting semester. Been such fucking slacker over the past month and not having the motivation to do any work at all. What the hell is wrong with me?! What worries me even more is probably the fact that I’m the only one who is still bumming around and not giving a damn of what’s happening in the class. Geez, HELLO? *knocks self on head* I obviously am not exactly the best role model of being a class representative. Heck, probably even the worst. Bah!

Stoning, as usual. And not having sufficient sleep over the past 2 days.

Not exactly the best shot of Amber though. I wanna see the bee-stung lips!

Oh just by the way, Amber Chia and few other models were present in LUCT this afternoon to do some modellings for L’oreal in conjunction of yadayada bilibalabilabal.. She’s hot… *blushes* People started gathering around the stage and me being the kepoh one, so I dragged my friends along to check out the models posing with their funky hairdos as well.

Also, if you guys actually have come across todays’ news about the girl who mysteriously died after phoning her mom and telling her that ‘somebody was walking on the roof’… I read the news and not having able to get rid that piece of scary thought in my head.. Geez, how freaky can things get? Besides, that ‘ walking on the roof ‘ part somehow reminisces Dark Waterto me..

I really would love to blog about R3VELATION but seeming how long this post is already, I guess I’ll save it for some other time… I need to get some rest first but not till I finish up my Mcflurry Oreos.. Yum yum!

Ciaos..

22 August 2005

Gah.. I actually bothered waking up and drove all the way to college with stiff neck and sore feet. I still am suffering from aches all over my body. Feels so light at the bottom half of my body. Something must have probably loosen up or dislocated. Even my ankle bone seems like it has ran out of position. College was dead empty when I reached at about 10:20am this morning. Everyone probably took a day off after an exhausting weekend having to drive all the way down to Port Dickson and to endure the horrendous traffic jam back home.

Lecturer was kind enough to allow me to nap for 5 minutes as he demonstrated on techniques of colour pencil rendering of human figures. Really awesome I’d say even though he claims that the artwork wasn’t good enough. He made it seem so easy peasy to do renderings. Got briefed on my first ever major assignment for semester 3 and class dismissed!

Took some candid shots and a group picture of my current class. Had Nandos for lunch with Eugene and Vincent at Subang Parade before going back home and dozed off for heavenly two hours. Will blog about R3VELATION some other time cause I feel the need to go to bed very soon…

Recharge @ R3VELATION Teasers

21 August 2005

Just came back from Port Dickson not long ago.. My legs are shivering. My feet are sore and blistered. My whole body is aching. I feel so tired. R3VELATION was a blast. Good music, good girls and good company. Will update more on it later on. In case you’re wondering, these are what you have missed out on last night in Port Dickson.

1.44MB : Johan Gielen taking on the crowd with his trance sets. (0:24 secs)

Now and Then..

17 August 2005

Well, I used to call myself a perfectionist and that’s simply because I can’t stand untidyness. Every single minor defect bothers me. However, much has changed since then. Now I’m trying to search that quality I once possessed deep down inside of me. My patience has deteriorated tremendously and the lack of attention is obvious. I used to be lazy. Now I’m even lazier than before and not forgetting the uncontrollable desire to go out for yum cha almost every night. Something has gone terribly wrong.

I was browsing through the old collection of pictures I took over the past two years and then noticed how unsubtle my life has been constantly evolving. I wouldn’t say that my life has been an easy-going one but it was pretty bland and calm most of the time. I used to be adamant when people asked me to go party during the night. I was a full-time homie until up to one point when things just struck me.

Towards the end of last year, the change of self-image became obvious as… well, you can tell from my ‘busy’ schedules lately. The thought of getting rid the nerdy spectacles came into my mind one day and so I decided to get myself equipped with lenses instead. Tada… And then the undying needs of buying a whole new wardrobe just hit me. Clothings and all.. Those who probably know me well can actually tell how much of changes in term of my dressing sense.

As I continue scrolling down hundreds of rolls of images, you can see the obvious change of backgrounds of the pictures. Don’t quite get what I mean? Hehehe okay imagine this.. You see nothing but greenery and clear blue sky in the first half of the pictures and suddenly, all background turns into black with colourful disco lights and well, girls… Not many though but… you get the picture.. From watching TV at home to yum cha sessions and now clubbing every weekend. My interests have evolved so progressively that some of my hobbies are no longer any interest of mine.

So you see, time really flies in just a blink of the eyes and everything changes. Not only things that are only visible to your eyes but the person himself as well. For the better or worse, I don’t know. This I’ll have to leave up to others who will judge me for who I am. It’s not that I don’t like being involved in all these sorta stuffs, but it’s just that there’s this weeny bit of feeling that tells me I don’t belong in this group. I wonder what actually triggered all these unwanted attributes of mine?

Mommy Slinky… No More.

16 August 2005

Mahem. I wanted to ponteng class yesterday but then being such a good boy I have always been, I reluctantly dragged myself off the bed and almost fell asleep while showering. Drove all the way to Cyberjaya with my eyes half closed, only to find that class has been canceled… Total mahemness, I tell you! There’s only one class on Monday mah so I went to the cafe and played few games of foosball before going back to Subang for lunch with Vincent.

And guess what? Today’s class have been canceled as well. Wahliao, go there just to see Uncle Lim Kok Wing and then come home to do the daily chores. Luckily I didn’t have to drive to college today cause Vincent wanted to drop by to enrol for next semester so I carpooled only. Damn stone wei.. I managed to skip the first period since I was down with headacher earlier this morning. Came to know about the cancellation of class when I saw Mark online moments after I woke up from sleep.

Geez… Came back home around 4pm after knowing that my Computer Graphic class in the afternoon was postponed as well due to the E-Games festival. Bloody bitch.. and of all days, the replacement class has got to be on this coming Saturday! What the bloody fuck! Still thinking of whether to attend the class or not considering that R3VELATION is happening on the same day itself.

Haih…. Anyway, I went to the Curve for the second time during weekend on last Sunday. Been wanting to get an additional battery for the camera since the current one is starting to defect. So dropped by around late evening with sister who sponsored and so we had dinner as well at Thai Express. Hehehehehe, right so I’m 50% done preparing for this coming Saturday! Gonna think of what to bring along and what to wear as well on that day itself.

Woohoo!!!! Tomorrow no class but I gotta go pick my parents up from KLIA. Hehehe finally I don’t have to wake up at 6:00am in the morning just to feed the dogs and clean their poos! Thank you, mom for doing the hard work all these while. Now I know how it feels like to be a mom.

Ahhhhhhhh! Too much of Milo… I’m going to bed… Ciao!

Tall Paul @ Zouk : No Haze = AWESOME WEEKEND!

14 August 2005

Ah, morning sunshine with rays of light piercing through the fluffy clouds. Never has the weather been much better since the sudden departure of the haze, which apparently has been brought over to the northern region by the wind. Today’s weather is just perfect for a morning walk with your pet at the very much desolated parks. People who tried escaping from the haze made a big mistake as their rendezvous plan turned out in vain as Penang’s now shrouded in haze.

The haze has brought the whole of Klang Valley into a standstill as citizens were left fuming over the irresponsible act by our neighbourhood country. City central and many other parts of the western coast were enveloped by thick smog and causing one hella turbulent week. The haze was so bad that up to one point, when Subang Jaya was hit by an unexpected hailstorm. Second time if I’m not mistaken.

Our beloved Prime Minister paid a visit to LUCT on Thursday to officiate the official launch of some pioneer Malaysia Brand Packaging Industry yada yada… And the haze was so bad I didn’t bother to stay. I had to grab myself a quick lunch before I choke myself to death. Not only that, but we were forced to park all the way up the slope just to make way for the VIPs so they could park at the vacant parking space. Gah… the horror!

Well, and now since the haze is gone, that means no more free holidays! Gah.. Managed to skip class on Friday so I went to the Curve with Eugene and Vincent. Sounds miserable at times since we hang out together most of the time and not bringing any girls along. Bumped into Jocelyn at Ikea before crossing the bridge over back to Curve for a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Friday night falls and what else other than Godskitchen featuring. Tall Paul at Zouk!? The night kicked off pretty slowly and not forgetting having to overcome some obstacles just to get into Zouk to party all night long! Man, seems like every club is now reinforcing the 21 years of age limit so that means getting into any one of the clubs isn’t gonna be as easy as it used to be. Anyway, we got denied entry at first but thankfully, I’ve got solution to that! Many thanks to Joel for he was the one who taught me this ‘trick’. Hehehehe!

Bad Air Day..

10 August 2005

Gah. It’s a class-free Wednesday and I had to wake up at 10:00am in the morning. Dropped parents off at KLIA who left for Vietnam so I’ll be home alone, well sort of, for the next 7 days. Brother and sister will have to work so I’m going to takeover the housewife position once again and do the chores like filling up bottles with water and sending clothes for laundry service. Oh, have I told you that I have to wake up 6 bloody AM in the morning so that I can lure my black gutsy Labrador, Ashley back into the cage and then clean its’ poo before the paperman arrives. There was once when he happily flung the newspapers into the courtyard and landed on the poo instead.

Gah. Driving into the thick haze wasn’t just interesting but dangerous as well. I couldn’t make out what was ahead of me throughout the whole journey from Subang to Sepang and back. So much of hoping for the haze to disperse but then it turns out to be worse than other previous days. Even schools are closed for the next two days due to the air pollution which has now reached to a point to be considered as hazardous to health. Daym, you can even taste the air just by sticking your tongue out. Probably tastes the same as like licking the ash tray.

Well, at least it looks beautiful during the night as streetlights illuminate the hazy roads of West Malaysia. It really does reminds me of Genting Highland. No, seriously.

Anyway, I’ve got tons of work to do so I guess I’d better be off. Prime Minister will be dropping by at Limkokwing tomorrow. Hopefully he declares holiday for the next week or two. Now I really feel sick. Ciao..

Oh by the way, do drop by at Hazehaters if you have the time. Let’s fight the haze together!

Back from the Graves… Hopefully..

9 August 2005

Sister just bought a new phone. We were over at Subang Parade to have Nandos’ for dinner and so she decided to drop by the phone shops to check on the new Sony Ericsson K750i. We spent about fourty minutes ogling at all sorts of models and comparing every single one of them with another. Sister finally made up her mind and chose the Samsung E-530C as seen on newspapers today. I want a new phone as well. I’d probably have to sell my buttock to buy a new one. Even if I do, I’d probably not survive the wrath of my parents and bro, considering I bought this N6230 only a year back.

Second week of college yet I’m slacking already and not having the determination to get my ass back to work. I still despise my timetable for the current semester. I left early on last Friday morning cause I couldn’t be bothered waiting for bloody four and half hours just to attend Communication Studies. So there you have it, first class and I already went missing in action.

Instead, I went for lunch with Eugene and Vincent at Sunway Pyramid and actually managed to catch a movie as well. Kim Gary was unusually empty for it was lunch hour. Fantastic Four’s awesome but sadly, it only lasted for merely one and half hour. A little tad too short for todays action movies, I reckon. Well, at least there’s Jessica Alba who made up for the short film length. SHE’S DA BOMB, oh my goodness. *fans self*

De Canter on Friday night itself was great. We had slightly more than the previous outing with the same old company but hey, I ain’t complaining! Chin Ju and Rachel both dropped by moments later and joined us till late night before parting for sobering sessions at Sri Bestari.

PC Fair the following day with Eugene and Vincent. Didn’t feel too well during the morning but that didn’t stop me from having a bowl of long-awaited ajinomoto souped pork mee. I’m impressed having stepped foot into KL Convention Centre situated right beside the renown Petronas Twin Towers. That place is so grand with scents of classiness so bare you can hardly not appreciate the venue.

Not only the amount of people who flocked the convention centre were unbearable, but getting there all the way from Subang Jaya was killer. Hopping onto a sardine packed train was shit but people never seem to stop boarding the train so we got pushed all the way to the back and almost died having inhaled bad odours of women clad with hundred pieces of clothings.

You see, the problem didn’t just end there as we had to queue up to get to the LRT station in KLCC. Securites had to do headcounts to control traffic flow of pedestrians so we last resorted to Amy who was also there by coincidence. Reluctantly in fear of intefering Tan family’s privacy, we carpooled all the way back home sweet home after a long tiring day. Thanks for the ride by the way! Owe you much!

Brand new season of English Premier League is about to kick off with Arsenal suffering a 1-2 defeat by Chelsea at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff for Community Shield last night. Definitely a great match with lots of expectations coming from both teams who fought till the very last seconds of the 90 minutes.

Beautiful oriental interior architecture.

Braised sharkfin with crabmeat soup!

Last but not least, the long overdue pictures I took on sister’s birthday dinner at China Imperial, Jaya Square. Till then, good night and sweet dreams of me…
