Look What You’ve Done..

27 October 2005

The month of October has caused much anxiety and stress to many. My term break starts next Monday in conjunction with Deepavali and Hari Raya. Two weeks remaining and I’ll be done and over with semester 3. However, things don’t seem to be going too well and this is what I feel like doing now:

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

For the fourth time, this October is the month you’d love to hate. Life’s too short, for once…

Did I Hear You Say, PARTY?

24 October 2005

Many might have been left disappointed following the official announcement about the cancellation of Team Renault F1 Pit Party 2005 due to the untimely passing of our beloved Prime Minister’s wide, Datin Seri Endon Mahmood last Thursday. It seems that quite a number of events have been affected, including Zouk’s renowned Voodoo night featuring. Matt Hardwick on last Friday night as well as MTV VJ Hunt Finals which was initially scheduled on the 21st at Zouk Kuala Lumpur.

I know that it is frustrating having to alter the schedules for your next couple of weekends JUST to compensate for the Pit Party F1 that everyone has been looking forward to, but the passing of our First Lady is a big loss to the nation. I don’t understand why some idiots actually make such a big fuss about it and even to the extent of cursing at the deceased one. Like WTF la wei… Just because your oh-so-wonderful rave party got cancelled, you simply throw tantrums and flame the whole of the people involved unnecessarily.

These kinda people, GO FUCK YOURSELF IN THE ASS WITH YOUR STUBBY FINGERS! What disgusts me even more is THIS. Just when I thought I’ve seen enough of shits from the previous incident in which 22 innocents were jailed during a drug bust, and now THIS. Do note that this story is totally unrelated to the drug bust but it goes to show how fucked up our malaysian police force are.

Anyway, for those who are deprived of partying at clubs, here are couplet of events that I have come up with that might prove useful to ones that are still without any plans during the festive holidays. So far, the probable events that I confirm am going will definitely be John Digweed‘s, Godskitchen featuring. Guy Ornadel and Mish Mash 2 Party at Zouk during Deepavali Eve. Armin Van Buuren will be spinning at Zouk on the 9th December before he departs for Singapore’s Zoukout so I guess I’ll just wait for him at the Lion City instead. Ferry Corsten will also be paying a visit on the 23rd of December, 2005 but sadly I won’t be here to attend his gig :(

Other events including Atmospherique: La Maison that will be happening on the 3rd December, 2005 at Mines Square. This rave is organized by TwelveSI, the one who brought you Atmosphere and ticket price is RM90 for pre-sale, inclusive of 4 drinks. I personally think it’s not worth the money just for Cosmic Gate and the rest of Atmosphere’s very own resident DJs. Also, Zouk will be having it’s Disco Bloodbath Halloween Party on the 29th October. I could ask for free invites so do message me if you’re interested.

Okay, so I guess it’s time to stop thinking of partying and strive on my final hurdle of semester 3. Back to work so ciao!

Dear Gorilla… Meet Friendster!

22 October 2005

Remember Mr. Gorilla?

I believe those who frequent my blog would probably find Mr. Gorilla rather familiar, no? I actually gain possession of him early this year when I bought the combo pack of Bausch&Lomb Renu solution. 8 months have come and gone, with solution running low once again, so I decided to get another combo pack and found Mr. Gorilla a partner as well! Ladies ang gentlemen, meet Miss. Veronica! I feel happy for Gorilla cause he no longer needs to stare at the ceiling alone anymore for he has got Veronica to star gaze with instead!

Awww… What lovely couples they are~

Thursday night was just full of shit (in a good way). Not only did my trip to Ghetto Heaven not materialize for the second consecutive time, but also an hour long of enduring the stench that came from the Chow Tau Foo stall at Asia Cafe when we were there for yum cha session. Seriously, the smell was just unbearable even when we were 70 metres away. To make things worse, a group of girls sitting at the table right beside us ordered some so that made us no difference from sitting right in front of the stall itself.

Seeing how the girls had so much fun trying to eat the chow tau foo instantly intrigued us who later then came up with a challenge to see who manages to eat 1 whole piece without throwing up! I was kinda reluctant to take up the challenge cause it seriously sucks. Hell, I don’t even eat tau foo, let alone munching century old stinking fermented chow tau foo bomb. But then once again, my weak foundation of willingness proved useless as I finally succumbed to the constant persuasion from the rest.

I took up the challenge, and came back home really proud for once :D There were 5 pieces so each of us had to eat 1 piece. However, every piece of chow tau foo has been halved due to it’s immensely large size that we never will be able to swallow the whole of it. Husni scored the opening since he lost the first round of our “Lat” bet. Hahahahaha, what a way to break fast!

Eugene went second, followed by Vincent before it reached my turn. I had doubts when I first saw Husni’s expression but then I overcame that fear as I braced the stench and stuffed the whole piece into my mouth.Everyone was dead quiet as they watched me grab my first bite. Tasted good for the first 2 seconds…. still okay after 5 seconds….. suddenly no taste after 10 seconds….. then I felt as though I was munching on my own shit. BLEEEERGH! Fuck, tears started to well as I forced myself to down the piece of shit. Everyone was laughing.

Mahem! Seriously, chow tau foo has got to be the most shittiest ass delicacy ever created!! Joel took the last bite and so that concluded the first round of our very own “Fear Factor” programme. Everyone quickly ordered another drink just to wash down the horrible taste that was stuck in our mouth throughout the whole night.

Took us some time to recover from the traumatizing experience of eating chow tau foo when suddenly, someone mentioned about having a go for the second round! I was stoned by then.. and so without much thinking, we took up the challenge and had another piece. Unfortunately, nobody threw up but nevertheless, we had one hell of a good time laughing and making so much noise. Played foos that night and spent RM30 on Heinekens! Damn the budget for increasing tax of alcohols…

SO, ladies and gentlemen… If you are planning to try chow tau foo some time soon, just remember to stay healthy and be mentally fit. Hold your breath as you bite so the taste won’t get into you but then of course, doing so would kill most of the fun anyway so bite as if you really like it!

I want to blog about Oktoberfest, which turned out to be quite a disappointment as the supply depleted like what, 20 minutes right after it kicked off?? Craziness, I tell you. I was there last night but didn’t get to try any of them with RM1 coins. The atmosphere was pretty happening with all the live music and happy-go-lucky people singing along. Apparently, they only reserve like 20 crates or 500 bottles equivalent for the RM1 promotion so late comers will have to buy the beers for normal price; RM50 for 1 bucket = 4 bottles, if I’m not mistaken.

Had dinner at Jack’s place instead and boy was it long just to wait for our food to be served. Almost half the KL population was there at 1 Utama last night since it was a public holiday. It would have turn out as a family outing if only my parents followed us cause my brother was there as well. Sister and I were busy checking out the crowd when he suddenly jumped out of nowhere with his face all glowing red after having almost a dozen of imported beers. My brother didn’t call us or reserved some at all! Damn…

Also, the Euro Fun Fair which is situated right beside 1 Utama new wing! I spent the entire Friday night over there looking at the brightly lit rides. Seems kinda fun actually even though the rides look a bit dangerous.. Entry fee is only RM3 for an adult and 1 token costs you RM2. Go give it a try! There’s also the ferris wheel for those lovebirds out there. Hehehehehe. Do note that this fun fair is pretty much a high budget one althought you might not want to bring high expectations along when you go. Just have fun!

Now if you would excuse me as I need to take a hot shower and short nap. Today’s gym was tiring even though I didn’t work out that much.. What a lazy Saturday.

Rest In Peace…

20 October 2005

Well, obviously October is by far the most depressing month in year 2005′s calendar with so many passings of loved ones within the last couple of weeks. Datin Seri Endon Mahmood finally succumbed to breast cancer, which she had been fighting for over the past years. It was a lacklustre Thursday morning with dark clouds blanketing the mourning grounds of nation with the loss of our First Lady.

I didn’t really get the news until mid afternoon when a classmate of mine actually mentioned about it. Apparently, the prayers were continuously played on radio stations but I was busy blasting Armin Van Buuren’s Bounce Back featuring Remy & Ronald Klinkenberg. It is 8:56pm now with the last tear of God having fell from the sky. Tonight’s weather certainly is nice but it just doesn’t feel the same as previous nights.

I have got something interesting to blog about but I believe it is best to leave that out for the moment in fear of contradicting with today’s post.

May Datin Seri Endon Mahmood rest in peace, along together with loved ones of the rest of family and friends, in Heaven, for they will be remembered always.

Say Hello….. Hello!

19 October 2005

Woohoo! And so the official DJ line-ups is finally out. I wouldn’t say it’s impressive but hell, there’s Armin Van Buuren so expect some mind-blowing progressive trance, just the way I want the night to be! Not forgetting Singapore’s very own Aldrin who is said to be quite an impressive trance DJ himself. Mmm… I’m surprised that Carl Cox isn’t one of them, though I’d love to see him in action this end year of Singapore’s highly anticipated dance music festival at Sentosa Island. Nick Warren disappointed when he came together witg Jody Wisternoff as Way Out West during Zoukfest 2005, so let’s just hope that he’ll make up to that this year end!

Those who despise trance have got no worries for there will be mixtures of genres to cater all party-goers preferences on the 10th December. From RnB and Hip-Hop to Electronicas and Breakbeats to Mambo Jambo; All night long from 8pm to 8am!

I’m just wondering if Zouk Kuala Lumpur here is ever going to sell tickets for Zoukout 2005 as well cause, apparently Malaysia isn’t listed in the ticketing info so I might need to have overseas contact to help me get the tickets instead. Transportation has already been settled and now hotel booking underway. Everything is going as planned and way ahead of schedule. Geez, Zoukout is causing me to steer away from my studies! You can head over to Zoukout’s official website for more information regarding ticketing info and attractive packages to go with the event.

Wowee… Other than that, I’ve got nothing much to blog about as life in college has been pretty mundane lately. Classes being canceled too often (not that it’s a bad thing..) and submissions of assignments are 80% cleared by now. Another 2 weeks till semester break, and I shall party all night long from 4th November onwards.

I WANNA GO ZOUK but I’m afraid of getting raided since we are currently in the midst of Ramadhan month AND of course, without a doubt, that roadblocks would be set up almost every stretch of the KL streets in hopes of earning some extra pocket money for the coming Hari Raya. I’m still contemplating if I should go for Matt Hardwick this coming Friday or just console myself with Renault F1 Pit Party Celebration at Sepang F1 Circuit instead. I was supposed to go Ghetto last week but then it didn’t work out cause I had no transportation, and also the fact that I heard about having a raid during this couple of weeks. Turned out to be a false alarm.

Drug Bust Jails 22 Innocents tells a story about a fateful night at Hartamas where a raid has been carried out for drug bust. Whoever says that you’d be fine as long as you do not consume alcohol or drugs.. wrong, Wrong, WRONG! See… With legendary DJs such as Ferry Corsten, John Digweed and Armin Van Buuren coming down to KL during end year, how am I suppose to party safely and the way I should be leh? The feeling of insecurity and vulnerability really send shivers down my spine.

Therefore, I am gonig to boycott Zouk Kuala Lumpur for the next two weeks until Ramadhan is over. Wait till Semester 3 is done! Wait till next month’s allowance of course since I’m dead broke already after having bought the Sony PSP… My newly found true love. *muaks* OH, this Saturday is an exception though since I’ll be going to Zouk for the MTV VJ Hunt Finals. Hehehehe, I’ve got another free pass left. Anybody interested?

And the weather is worth mentioning in today’s post. Morning drizzle and calm wind slipping through the ledges of my windowpanes. Ohohoho makes me wanna cuddle underneath the comforter and sleep till the end of Semester 3. Total bliss indeed!

False Alarm

8 October 2005

Hurrumph! I feel so lethargic yet I don’t have the urge to go to bed. Trip to gym during late afternoon turned out rather productive as I managed to work a couple extras of routine. Very tiring indeed, considering after having stopped for almost a week due to heavy workload and stuffs. Gym was practically empty with only a few chineses around. Those muscular malays probably are taking a break due to current fasting month.

I spent my Thursday night struggling to stay awake so I could type the report for English for Design module but failed miserably. Once again, I underestimated the passing of time and it was then until I decided not to continue already and slumped on the bed at 4:00am. After barely having slept for mere 4 hours, I woke up because I need to get to college early to purchase chemicals for photography.

I wanted to skip the afternoon class because I had nothing to submit to my lecturer. My classmate insisted that I go to class and hoped for a miracle. I did, and it came true! I was late for the class, everyone seemed rather calm and relaxed. I glanced towards the lecturer’s desk and saw nothing but stack of papers. Nobody handed in their work.

I waited till the dismissal of class before I approached the lectuer and asked “Eh? Today not submission meh?” She replied in squeaky voice, “Yah lor. But you already did mah. Just type it out and pass it to me next week“. I was puzzled. “Eh? I did? but I havent finish the report also?” My lecturer then went on and sounded both my friend and I for not paying enough attention in class; “WHAT LA YOU! Today is the submission for the report outline mah! The actual report is following week!”

OMG!! I didn’t know how to react to the fact when she said that. I felt so stupid after having spent the entire night typing something without knowing it’s actual submission date. But that also makes me happy, knowing that I have less work to do for the next coming week. Hehehehe! It’s already half way done so I just have to spend another Thursday night to get everything done :P Though it was a risky choice that I made for not finishing the report, but I’m grateful that I won’t have to get penalized.

So I came back home and wanted to blog about it but then I accidentally fell asleep, for 5 minutes. Eugene called after that and off we went for steamboat dinner! Hahahaha.. FINALLY, after having planned for almost decades ago. Our initial plan of going to Kepong for steamboat has been scrapped due to killing traffic congestion. Went to Pyramid instead of 1 Utama to watch “Into the Blues”. Not too bad I’d say. The plot is questionable, but definitely not JESSICA ALBA.. She alone made the RM10 movie worth every single cent of it.

I want to show some of the interesting landmarks I found in Google Earth but am kinda lazy to post it right now. Will do so later k? Just can’t wait to get over and done with semester 3. Wish me all the best and OH, Matt Hardwick is coming to town this October! He’ll be spinning at Zouk on the 22nd October, 2005. Interested ones can leave a message here! Ghetto Heaven next Thursday as well!

Ciao..

Sekolah Seri Cahaya Prom 2005

5 October 2005

Finally, the night that we 03′ leavers never had the chance to experience, has finally materialized for Sekolah Seri Cahaya is holding it’s first ever inaugural prom night : Sophistication in Simplicity. The prom night will be held at Zest Dance Club, Sunway Resort Hotel on the 12th December 2005. Those interested can purchase tickets by calling any of the following numbers provided in the flyer itself. You can also view the flyer here. I must say, the performances on that night seem pretty attractive and it’s going to be an awesome occasion.

I’m not really keen on attending this event, knowing that I possibly won’t be able to find a date to go with. However, I would reconsider if you peeps out there are planning to get a table of your own so at least things wouldn’t turn out as awkward as it is. I would, if I know that my friends are going to be there for sure. After all, the only remaining ones I know in Seri Cahaya are those who will be leaving this year right after SPM. Favourite teachers no longer teach in that rundown crappy school.

Sad.

NEWS: Zoukout 2005 DJ Line-ups!

4 October 2005

Great news to all party-goers who are planning to kick start their December holidays as Sentosa Island of Singapore will be hosting the 4th Zoukout Dance Music Festival once again! DJ line-ups look pretty convincing for now, with Trance maestro Armin Van Buuren dishing out his progressive music at the main room! We’re gonna have Carl Cox and Nick Warren as well to rock the shores of Lion City. Hopefully it doesn’t cause another tsunami instead.

Armin Van Buuren
Carl Cox
Nick Warren
Martin Solveig
Louise Vega (MAW)
Jazzy Jeff
Chus&Ceballos
Peter Kruder
Stephane Pompougnac (Hotel Costes)

Local live bands: Electrico and Slowjaxx Does Dallas

Do note that the source of this DJ line-ups is undisclosed but certainly is reliable. I’m pretty sure that Zouk will officially announce the line-ups some time soon. But for now, you might just wanna start packing and get ready for the most anticipated Dance Music Festival in South-East Asia!~

Glitz Before, Frustration After.

3 October 2005

So, before I start off with rantings of the day, here are the pictures taken during the inaugural Glitz Star Search on last Friday night. The event was ‘proudly’ sponsored by Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology. I really did wonder if those money being splurged on this event actually came from our annual resource fee instead. Well decorated Hall of Fame with decent lighting effects. PA system was good but technicians had a little bit of a problem with the mics. It was mood spoiler for those who were affected by the problem during their performance. Girls aplenty and that probably was the main highlight of the night!

Glitz kicked off at 7:30pm sharp, one and half hours later than actual time stated but we weren’t surprised at all. In fact, people only started filling up the empty seats 20 minutes after. Ticket price was RM10 but somehow I was offered free entry instead by the beautiful cashier over at the counter. Three days later and I still have yet to figure out the possibilities. Could it be the theme of the night that my dresscode coincided with? Or was I the one too blur to have actually missed out on what she was trying to hint on me?

The theme for the night was: Black and Bling, and I so happened to be wearing a black top with my 35th Anniversary Adidas. She ran her eyes from top of my head to the tip of my toes before answering my question with a gentle smile and said, “it’s free for you *wink*”. I instantly stoned but was strong enough to regain conciousness and got my hand chopped before walking into the Hall of Shame Fame.

It felt almost like Ghetto Heaven on a Friday night with tunes of 50 Cents, Rihanna, Missy Elliott and the likes pumping loud from the speakers. The atmosphere certainly was encouraging and identical to those mini concerts. You could tell that the music aroused much anticipation in the crowd because people were already dancing and shaking their booty right before the event started.

Though there weren’t much performances for each category but most of them did really well. I didn’t get to stay for the final results but I’m sure the judges must have had a pretty tough time deciding on the winners for the competition. There were four main categories if I’m not mistaken; solo, duet, band and dance. The host of the show did one helluva good job to keep the crowd glued on their seats. Couple of familiar looking guest MCs were present as well, together with the pretty much famous K-Town Clan as Roshan kept it crunkin’ throughout the night.

Also, there was this lucky draw session in between for the crowd and winners walk away with prizes. Winners were determined by their ticket numbers that were randomly drawn from a big bowl. Funny thing was, only one of ten chosen ones bothered redeeming their prize. Hahahahaha. I almost went up when they mentioned “0983″ and I quickly grabbed my ticket out of the pocket, almost tearing it apart. Mine was “0985″…. DAYM!

It was reportedly said that Glitz ended at about 1:00am due to the earlier delay. I left at 10:30pm cause I had an appointment with the rest at Asia Cafe for yum cha session. Driving back home from Cyberjaya at such hour was damn creepy indeed. The streets were dead empty and it was freaking dark. Glitz certainly was a night to remember for many, and it was a big success I’d say. Turnout was impressive and management was good. I had no regrets staying till 10:30pm and that actually broke my previous record of 7:30pm. Awesome!

So that basically covers almost everything about the first ever Glitz event. Few of the dancers were actually damn chun but sadly, I didn’t get to know any of them. And now, the frustration of my day. Had a bad one, and somehow I just don’t feel like talking about it anymore. Let’s just say that group assignments can be hell fucked up at times. Fuckass.
