A Post So Long, A Title Not Needed.

28

November

And so the weekend was very well spent with three consecutive trips to 1 Utama with family and a friend (who is now fucking around in Shanghai!) Hahahaha, I was there with Eugene on Friday afternoon, only to be greeted by an unseemly small crowd. What’s up with that? Basically walked around the whole shopping complex for some good cardio exercise before returning home and went for gym. Then came Saturday night when dad suggested that we have dinner at Good Evening Bangkok instead. So, having the privilege to ride on a turbocharged Subaru Impreza STi, we happily hopped into the car and made those speed limit seem too slow.

Gorgeous Defi-Link meters at the center of dashboard.

The monstress within, roars like a queen!

Six speed transmission makes you go zoom zoom!

Momo steering wheel.

Brother didn’t get to unleash the true potential of the car since my parents were in the car as well but mom was fortunate to feel ‘partial’ of it the other day and boy was it exhilirating. Everyone of us were like jakuns, admiring both the interior and exterior while dad voluntarily occupied himself by coming up with a long list of why he’ll never buy such cars; too bumpy, too noisy, too ugly, too fast, too low, too expensive and etc.

I wasn’t in the mood to do much shopping after dinner cause I spent the entire Saturday afternoon on futsal with fellow ex-school mates of mine. Was supposed to play in Sportsplanet Sunway but then apparently, there was some carnivals going on and Sazzy Falak was there! Shit, didn’t get to meet her as we were left without any choices but to play in the other Sportsplanet instead. Tiring, but fun! It’s been such a long time since I last met up with the rest of the Sri KL-ians. Chiew Keng, Beng Wee, Malcolm, Ming Fei and few others.

Slept early again, as we parted home for a filling dim sum breakfast at the Imperial China, Jaya Square before heading off to 1 Utama on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to catch Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire at GSC. Not too bad I’d say, in fact I think it’s much better than the previous instalments and it was a two and a half hours show!. Both Katie Leung and Emma Watson looked gorgeous and it is no wonder why Harry Potter had his legs swept off the ground upon seeing Cho Chang (Katie). Hermione looked like a princess during the ball.

Hehehe, seeming how late it already was after the show, we decided to just have our dinner at 1U and tried out the newly opened Dragon-I restaurant. Weird name though, with the ‘I‘ making it sound so techy. Similar to Crystal Jade Restaurant in Singapore, Dragon-I serves a variety of delicacies but the main attraction has got to be the famous soup dumplings a.k.a xiao lung pao and la min(ramen) in different flavours.

Left at about 7:00pm and that was the last time I got to ride in the Subaru Impreza STi :( Brother returned it to his friend who borrowed dad’s car for a private short film project. Can’t wait to check it out! Hehehehe but yeah, it is undeniable that the trip back home was much more comfortable and serene, without the vibrating muffler ringing in my ears as well as those moronic idiots who wanted to challenge us for a race in highways.

Christmas is just around the corner, and I so want to go for christmas shopping! Ikea has got some activities going on with special appearances of Santa Claus, cooking demonstrations and balloon clowns! Those who are planning to hold a mini Christmas party might wanna drop by as there will be a product tips & idea session as well to provide you with clues on how to spice things up for festive season! All shopping complexes have put up shining glittering decos with beautifully lit up christmas trees!

WARNING: Keep out of reach of children. Furby so annoying, it bites!

Stalls have also been set up, selling all sorts of gifts and toy. Was browsing through some of them when I came across a shocking sight. The revival of… FURBY! Man, how would ever buy such fugly mutant that talks like a sissy. Not only that it is freaking hell annoying, but this piece of robotic device costs you a bomb too! And I just realised that I had forgotten to check the price tag, so stay tuned as I will keep you guys updated yah? The all-new Furby comes with new furs and abilities to remember phrases and shits like that. Sounds like the same old thing, no?

Oh, you can teach Furby a new trick too! CHECK THIS OUT:

Furby learns how to get stoned!

Geez. Anyway, Manchester United survived an early scare when Marlon Harewood put West Ham United in the lead under just 52 seconds. It seemed as though the Red Devils have already lost the game but a goal each from Wayne Rooney and John O’ Shea helped Man United scrapped through to a slim 2-1 away victory and continues to pile up the pressure on runaway champions Chelsea. Woohoo!

Aights… And so that concludes the end of tonight’s post. I have much more to blog about but I guess I’ll spare you guys from all those whinings in the meantime. Hehehehe! Oh, in case any of your are playing SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo on PSP as well, do find me in US West 1 server! Add me (Fedrick) into your friends list as well!

p.s: Do note that those two pictures of Furby are taken randomly from the World Wide Web. Many thanks to Google Image and the ones who provided the net with those pictures. Credits go to the individual authors.

Alright, Let’s Move Out!

Nyahhh! I just watched MTV and apparently twin sisters May Wan and Choy Wan will be hosting some kinda biographical show called the Double Trouble. Tried searching up the net regarding the show but couldn’t seem to find anything but irrevelant stuffs such as “Obi-Wan Kenobi….. twin lightsabers”. Both the Wan sisters may look just like any other ordinary females on the street but there’s something about them being attractive. Hehehe, might be the fact that they’re actually “twins”. X-factor indeed!

Anyway, 16 days to Zoukout 2005! Ahh, time surely flies and and soon after, we’ll have to scramble for other partying events to look forward to once again. It’s gonna be over right before we even know it :( I have yet to retrieve the camera from brother who brought it to Japan couple of weeks ago. Heheheeh, geez I wonder if my 1GB memory stick is going to last the whole night that would probaly be filled camwhoring sessions and mind-boggling bikini chics. The other battery pack of mine is acting up once again, not being able to recharge. WTF wei..

Holiday has been… so far so good, though I don’t have much plans for the next coming weeks. Foosball is getting a bit boring and not to mention but expensive as well, SO we decided to hit the cybercafes and boy was it addictive! Shit, never thought I’d play Counter-Strike once again like what? After a year and half of retirement and now we’ve rejoined the legion of hardcore gamers. I’ve also noticed a significant increase in female gamers over the interval but ALL of them are DOTA freaks. But then again, somehow I felt grateful not falling in love with DOTA for obvious reasons. You figure that out :P

Trip to Friendster cafe on a drizzling Saturday night was much better than I thought it’d be. Weather was awesome so we decided to have our drinks outdoor instead and it was so crowded on that night! Just like me during my first visit, Timothy, Eugene and Vincent were all dumbstruck upon seeing the big F R I E N D S T E R cafe sign and its’ logo. Hahahaha, their face expressions were just priceless!

Bumped into Jocelyn and friends as well but they left not long after. Hehehee, we then played Uno Stacko and came up with our own stupid rules and punishments for those who bring the whole stack of colourful beams down. Vincent emerged as the loser of the night with a total of 3 loss, followed by Timothy with 2 loss. Eugene and I had to share the trophy since we didn’t have to do any stupid face gestures!

The game started off slowly as we needed time to get used to the Uno Stacko rules and then only the pace started picking up when Vincent brought down the whole tower, hence the gross picture of him up there. Each of us then attacked the base of the tower by taking off the side beams and leaving the whole stack on the verge of toppling over. Hehehehe, Timothy was unfortunate as he accidently knocked the table and thus bringing down everything during Vincent’s turn. As a result, he was punished by imitating a constipating dragon. Not a very good job done, Timothy! >;(

Games of Uno Stacko and hours of non-stop laughing were well accompanied with the presence of garlic breads and french fries. Also, losers were prohibited from eating any of the tidbits for the next round and no drinks!

We left at about 1:40am as the staffs started cleaning up the place, which was desolated already by that hour. Our plan on next outing is already underway as well as a mini futsal match to be held some time soon during the next month, hopefully!

Hahahaha okie, time for gym. Ciao!

Please Rise For The National Anthem…

November

Thursday marked the end of my semester 3, and not surprising at all that it did ended with much hassles as I had to wait 3 freaking hours just to retrieve the studen coursework form and get it filled within 5 minutes before meeting up with Vincent at the One World Club. The campus was pretty much close to dead with less than 50 people spotted at the cafeteria, and so we had the one and only foosball table for ourselves. Contrary to the fact that LUCT charges for every single shit, all games that we played are absolutely FREE! My my, what a surprise!

Last assignment of the semester.. Wowee!

It was lunch so we decided to just play a couple of rounds but then knowing me, we ended up playing gazillion roungs before departing LUCT. Shit always happens during the last minutes. Hehehehehe! Gently walked towards the car park as I watch the deep blue sky envelope me with endless freedom, which proved worthy after 4 dreadful months of tormenting.

Hehehehe and so the whole of Saturday afternoon was spent in Centro salon to get my hair dyed and cut. Sitting on a chair and looking at self in the mirror for 4 hours really put you into an emotional stress and challenges one’s patience to it’s utmost limit. Thank goodness for my PSP or else would have died of boredom before I even got my hair cut. Left at about 6:30pm and boy was it raining quite heavily BUT there wasn’t much of traffic congestion. How weird can that be?? No traffic jam and Kuala Lumpur are always disproportional!

I also bought 4 new albums and I must say that all of them are definitely good buys. Most of them mainly falls under the genre of progressive trance and bit of hard house, well except maybe for Deep Dish’s George Is On that offers a more diversified tunes of house music. Flashdance, Say Hello and Dreams (feat. Stevie Nicks) are top singles of the album and not forgetting the likes of Sad Songs, In Love With A Friend and Sergio’s Theme with such mellow and soothing beats to ease your day off. The second CD offers quite a number of remixes of Deep Dish’s top single Say Hello as well as the video clip!

Moving on to the second album is Creamfields compilation mixed by Ferry Corsten, one of the top 10 DJs as voted by the people in DJ Mag 2005, and also the one who will be making a trip down to Zouk, Kuala Lumpur on the 23rd December. The compilation comes in 2 CDs, which accumulates up to a whopping 30 tracks for RM100. It is worth the money? Okay-lah.. but mind you, the one I bought is pirated one *blushes* The first CD includes a good mix of Electronica sets while the second one with progressive trance.

The third one will be M.I.K.E’s live set of Antwerp 05′. This I cannot comment much for now since I haven’t really listen to it just yet. However, M.I.K.E’s style is more to hard house and progressive tech. Not too bad I’d say but some people might actually find it wee bit boring and prefer bloody-pumping hard trance instead. Stay tuned for updates!

As for Anjunabeats Volume Three, I didn’t even bother trying cause it has got to be one of the best albums ever, solely mixed by the renowned trio Above & Beyond. This third installment features a good variety of tracks, including their very own Air For Life, Smith & Pledger’s Northern Lights, Made of Sun by Kyau vs. Albert as well as Mike Koglin vs. Jono Grant’s Sequential. Unlike the other three albums, Anjunabeats Volume Three comes with only a disc but still packs a punch with all the favourite tunes of avid clubbers. I love this most!

OH, and last but not least, Gol & Gincu’s original soundtrack! Hahaha finally got it after days of searching. RM35 for a total of 16 tracks, with mixtures of both local and international artistes, is worth the buy as the compilation features some of the beautiful songs written by our very own talents. I’m like so addicted to Nur Fatima’s Tiada Ertinya and Frequency Cannon’s Girl.

Hehehehehehe okay, and so that concludes today’s CD reviews and will blog about the trip to Friendster cafe tomorrow instead, since I haven’t uploaded the pictures into the PC.

GODSKITCHEN next week! Woohoo, can’t wait for Guy Ornadel to send us on adrenaline rush!

Gol Dan Gincu Dan Lain-Lain Lagi…

16

November

Another assignment down, and one final remaining design to go. Sorry for the lack of updates due to the rush against time in finishing up the remaining work…NOT. Hahahah, kononnya spent all the free time I had in coming up with plans for the next 3 months of holidays instead and also noticeable of me in becoming a couch potato lately.

Currently addicted to Real Kung-Fu and Life Made Simple TVB drama serials. Haven’t done so in a while and especially with so much time in my hands lately, thought it’d be a better way to kill time rather than having glued right in front of the monitor every single hour.

After months of speculation, I finally watched Gol dan Gincu (by coincidence) on Astro Ria and couldn’t agree more with what the others have to say about the teenybopper movie. Gol dan Gincu certainly stands out from the rest, with Sepet as an exception, as the movie breaks away from the norm with a very diversified plot to separate ones from the stereotypical view.

In comparison with Sepet, Gol dan Gincu might not be the public’s cup of tea in general, but it does attract a large variety of audiences; be them crazily-in-love teens, futsal fanatics, or hardcore fans of the beautiful lead actresses in the movie. While Sepet has got more sense of artistic expression in it, Gol dan Gincu solely emphasizes on the social life of teenagers in today’s world as well as teen issues that are not really highlighted in public.

The significance of Gol dan Gincu’s success are obvious in the vast sponsors and casts of the 2 hours film, and not forgetting the cinematography that really brings out the inner quality in today’s Malaysia films. Certain parts may be a wee bit waste of time and those cheesy conversations but then again, with the likes of Nur Fazura, Sharifah Amani, Sazzy Falak and my lovely Melissa Maureen, I don’t mind forking out another RM10 just to watch them even when no conversation’s involved :P

And since then, I have been all over the place in search of Gol dan Gincu’s soundtrack but it’s all OUT OF STOCK. Can’t be that bad right? Daym, and I can’t seem to find it online either. Does anybody have Ella’s Teruja so you can send it to me via e-mail or something? That’ll make do for the next week till I go on a rampage and ransack the record stores in KL. Wowee! The last malay song I fell in love with was Izinkan by VE. Man, that song somehow brought me into a state of emotional turbulence but that was back in 2003. Really missed those days..

Anyhoo, so basically that covers my spontaneous, bland review on Gol dan Gincu, but you have to watch it to see for yourself how much of emotional affectness this movie provides to almost anyone. I’ll give Gol dan Gincu a remarkable 8.3 out of 10!

Okay, done with the Gol dan Gincu craze, and now moving on to my boring life :) After having spent 6 months without driving a car, and another 18 months endangering other road pedestrians, I finally promoted from the ever despising Probational period. I can now roam freely in town without having to worry about being harassed for being a “P” driver and that police will no longer be able to use that as their sole advantage in pinning us down/asking for bribe. FUCK YOU ALL!

And so I missed John Digweed’s set at Zouk, Kuala Lumpur last weekend :( Those who went kept telling me that it was a blast. GAH, but I’ll be making a double trip down to Zouk for Ghetto and Godskitchen feat. Guy Ornadel next weekend. Anybody interested? Hehehehe, well hopefully shits don’t happen like what many of you might have already heard of; the Zouk Abuse case. It’s really saddening to know of such occurence, especially in such a renowned international club.

Hehehehe anyway, brother is back from Japan and he got me a Sony 1GB memory stick for only RM300! OMFG, what a drop dead crazy ass bargain! Didn’t take long to fill up 1/3 of the space with Aly & Fila’s live set mixes as well as Darude’s Salmiaki Sessions. Really good tracks featured in those sets and not forgetting Deep Dish’s Say Hello and Above & Beyond’s Air For Life. These tracks really touch the core and makes me feel like dancing almost anytime. And a great album I’d recommend to you is Godskitchen: Global Gathering 2005. Been listening to that album since 2 months ago. IT’s da bomb I tell you!

ARGH! Okay better be off now and get back to work. Hehehehe, am going to Friendster cafe this Saturday with Timothy and gang. That guy just made one of his friends got pranked in Hitz.fm’s morning crew “Gotcha!”. Hehehehehe quite funny also, and hopefully I don’t end up a victim myself some day :S

Ciao!

And the Reds Go Marching On…

09

November

Run Like A Wind, Score Like A Hero, GOALLLLLLLLL!

Chelsea? What about them? Not the first time, that Manchester United managed to bounce back from their mediocre form and put Chelsea’s 40 games unbeaten run to a miserable end. It took long enough for the Red Devils to hit back at the cricticsms being thrown at them after having suffered from what seems to be the most dreadful week of football in years. And with the vital win, I’m glad that Manchester United can finally pick up the crictisms and hurled it back at those culprits. HAH!

You, Lampard! Thou Shall Speak No Evil!

It surely has been a toe curling match throughout the whole of 90 minutes with both sides playing superb football. Chelsea had a real go on ManUtd’s net with Drogba’s clever one-touch lob but it was denied just as fantastically by Edwin Van Der Sar. Then, there’s Paul Schole’s long volley from 25 yards only to come close after having sliced past the far post of Chelsea’s. Darren Fletcher’s goal might have been a bit of luck but it is undeniable that he scored the goal with some ’style’.

Having claimed 3 points from the match allows us to breathe new air of confidence in the Red Devils after suffering to 1-0 defeat against Lille and not forgetting the 4-1 heart wrenching defeat at Middlesbrough. Wes Brown is worth mentioning for his exceptionally remarkable performance right after an injury comeback. Alan Smith is undoubtedly the man of the match for he was the one who controlled the midfield throughout the game.

Though, with all the hypes and rapturous celebrations, the contention for league titles are far from over, and Manchester United has got to work hard as they are now on the verge of not being able to qualify for the knockout stage in Champions League. We have faith in the team and believe that the Reds will go marching on to glory!

Hehehe okay, off with the happy times, and now moving on the dreadful ones :( Another week to go till the end of Semester 3, and I’m DYING for holidays! This semester might seem to have flew by in just a blink of the eye but it surely did felt draggy at most times due to the “feel-free-to-do-whatever” timetable. In comparison with previous semesters, I have so much lesser work to do but then again, the clock seems to be ticking way slower and the holiday mood is getting the best of me! Noooo!

My Zoukout tickets will be arriving in two weeks time. Kakakakak, so can’t wait to get a hold on those piece of papers with bunch of small little words written on the back of it. I just love screening through the rules and regulations, especially the age limit; 15. Entry only to 18 years and older, with proper ID. HAHAHAHAHAHA, shit I’m hyperventilating. End year trip to Singapore is soooooo gonna be awesome!

John Digweed is spinning at Zouk, Kuala Lumpur this coming Friday but seeming how financially constraint that I am, guess I’ll give it a pass since I need to save up for my Singapore trip :( And the currency rate is going up! AHHHHHHHH! Also, with the postponement of MTV VJ Hunt Finals which was initially scheduled on the 22nd of October will now be held on the 13th November (Sunday). Time and location are the same, so I’ll see you there :D

OH YAH, and rumor has it saying that Atmospherique: La Maison might be postponed as well. No official reason has been stated but then if it really does, I’m gonna have to skip the rave :( And LAST but not least, here’s something you might take a laugh at:

Kantoi-ed For Life!

Selamat Terlambat DeepaRaya !

05

November

Pardon me for the lack of updates for I have been too busy making full use of the very much time in my hand partying and nothing else over the past week and now forgetting that I have a submission for Illustration this coming Monday without having started any work on the packaging and so obviously it is common for me to start panicking right now even though I have strong faith and confidence in self to come up with a reasonably good piece of work to wow the people who I bet won’t be turning up in college when class resumes for the next 7 days which I absolutely can’t wait to get it done and over with because the clock seems to be ticking so much slower than usual it feels like a century before Zoukout is finally here …. *takes a deep breath*

Anyway, so my trip to Zouk on Wednesday night didn’t turn out as planned as heat rashes developed due to many possibilities of cause, which I haven’t really get to determine out just yet. I stayed in Subang instead and went for a drink and couple of games of foosball with the usual gang. Bumped into Jolene again! Hehehehe, and this time together with the whole of SMSU gang! So happening wei… and that made me realize how much our group have been missing over the past two years after having graduated from high school.

Sigh. My semester cum deeparaya holidays have been well spent on :

1) Mambo Jambo @ Zouk, Kuala Lumpur
2) Recovery from hangover (Just once!)
3) Resident Evil 4 and Winning Eleven 9 on Playstation 2
4) Movie marathon (Corpse Bride, Chicken Little and Zorro 2)
5) Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 PLUS on PSP (Germany is fucking tough country to beat!)

5 years ago, school holidays are like gifts from God as we indulge selves in countless hours of Counter-Strike and trips to cinemas with the whole class. 5 years later, school holiday is worst occasion of the year with kids, bengs and lians and half the population of KL all concentrated in one spot. You can hardly move around with those kids running around and parents chasing after them without noticing the crowd and thus, running blindly straight towards you or stepping on your feet, then followed by a fake utter ‘OoOopS!’

Buying tickets for a show at cinema is one problem. Watching in the cinema with all the kids making hella much noise is another problem. GAHHHHH! Oh, by the way, all the best to all who are sitting for their finals; SAM, CPU, A-Levels, SPM, STPM and etc… Man, so many exams wan?

I was at 1 Utama on Thursday night and the crowd was insanely massive. Looking for a carpark was pain in the ass but thank goodness, we made it just on time to get ourselves a drink and held a 45 seconds worth of conversation with Pearly as well as a trip to the toilet before storming right into the cinema for, CHICKEN LITTLE!

After that, we headed off to Friendster Cafe at Damansara Perdana. First of all, the name of the cafe is such a turn-off and it just sounded weird for some odd reasons. Secondly, the logo of Friendster Cafe is like a total rip-off from Starbucks. Geez, and yet these people are like raking in big bucks for their “innovative” ideas. However, the place didn’t seem as bad as it sounds, with games to play and quite a “berlakukan” ( happening- term created when chatting with Jocelyn) crowd. Price for the food and beverages are acceptable, just like the ones you’d find in other cafes.

If you are observant enough, you’d probably notice that Friendster Cafe isn’t just the only surprise that you’d find in that area, for there is… *drum rolls* ZOUK! Hahahahaha yeah, and it’s Zouk Salon to be exact, which happens to be a… reflexology centre?! Geez, things can never get any weirder than this.

Okay, seeming how much time I have spent on this post, I guess I really should get going and start working on my assignment. Good day to all and Selamat Terlambat Deepavali and Hari Raya Adilfitri!

A New Beginning, Start Afresh!

01

November

Thank God that October has finally come and gone. Last month didn’t end well either as we were unfortunate to get pulled over for “jumping” the red light, so to claimed by that policeman. My sister was driving mom and I to dinner at Old Town, PJ when the policeman came out of nowhere and halted us. My sister didn’t want to offer him in the first place but the policeman kept on insisting that he was kind enough to give her another chance to “escape”. So in the end, the bragging policeman prevailed and sped off with RM50 duit raya. Fucker!

Halloween was pretty much uneventful considering I forfeited self from attending the Disco Bloodbath event at Zouk last Saturday. Hope I didn’t miss out much. So, in order to compensate for the desperation to party, I went for Mish Mash 2 last night instead. Mambo Jambo turned out surprisingly… fun! Well, at least I enjoyed my night with oldies that makes you go bouncing like a jolly rabbit. Or maybe that’s because of the Black Label.

I was together with my sister and cousin sisters and my cousin sister’s boyfriends and cousin sister’s boyfriend’s friends. It was quite a crowd and not forgetting my brother’s friends whom I kept bumping into almost every 15 minutes. The night kicked off very soon after we got in to Velvet and those 2 bottles of Black Label didn’t even last for 2 hours as we downed everything by 1:30am. People were all tipsy and my senses started to lose it’s “touch”.

Wei Mun was over at main room with Sheak Li, Lis and the rest from LUCT. Ghetto was practically EMPTY throughout the whole night. I was surprised. Perhaps not many know about last night’s special event or maybe the regulars have already gone back hometown to celebrate Hari Raya and Deepavali. But still, it was EMPTY. I paid one last visit to Ghetto at about 2:00am and the music only started building up.

This morning was shit but nevertheless, the night was fun seeing Wei Mun getting high and quiet with the alcohol kicking in. Wanted to grab a bite at the lok-lok stall during mid night only to find that it was closed. Sudah balik kampung! Gah… Bumped into Renee after that at the most unlikely place; restroom. Hahahaha yeah, the one that belongs to Terrace Bar is unisex wan mah.

Also, an important note to all local party-goers who are planning to go for Zoukout 2005:

Limited tickets are available for SALE at Zouk, Kuala Lumpur for RM80 (RM72 for valued customers) so hurry, while stocks last!

On a rush right now so will blog again later. Ciao !
