Will be taking a short break. Guess I won’t be back so soon. Hopefully to keep you people updated with some pictures along the hiatus.
Take care.

Simply indescribable. Five whole hours of orgasmic trance music by DJ Tiesto. What else more could we ever ask for? It is no wonder why he’s been hailed as one of the trance maestros, for his set was purely inspirational and capable of even sending the dead ones unearthing themselves just to witness historical event.
I got to indulge in the foul stench of those people with body odours. Well, you don’t get to enjoy body odour-free raves here in Malaysia anyway due to its staggering hot climate. Everyone eventually got drenched in their own sweat and becoming sticky while rubbing their shoulders against others. We were forecasting the weather that it would rain since the sky was shrouded in dark clouds and lightning storms could be seen from afar but alas, we ended up like a can of sardined creatures in microwave.
Being part of the emphatic 19,000 crowd was a night to remember. Apart from the previous gig at Zouk Kuala Lumpur during April 2004, Tiesto has never spun in a local big-scaled event such as the night before (I think), so it was real honor and wonderful experience to see him LIVE in person. Never did I imagine the occurence of Saturday night be such euphorically ecstatic, especially since I went there with low expectations.
It was hardly pleasing to hear some of the reviews cause many didn’t seem to expect much from Tiesto himself either. But I’m really glad that the trance maestro has proven all of us wrong with our doubtfulness on him, and boy were we truly sorry.
We got there just in time for Derb and Drums Connection after Bass Agents had done their bits to warm up the everflowing sea of people. It turned out a little awkward seeming how the hardstyle local boys were placed right at the doorstep instead. I sympathize for BA cause it must have made them felt like underdogs. Screw the organizers who placed them over there at the entrance!
As for the venue, I must say that it wasn’t too bad, albeit a little confined for an expected 20,000 crowd. There were plenty of spaces for breathing and rejuvenation so that was good. Surprisingly, no queues for the portaloos so that’s DOUBLE PLUS! Don’t those people pee at all?! What happened to those promises of pyro displays madness and REASONABLE PRICE for drinks? RM15 for a can of Heineken beer was a turn off, especially if compared with the RM10 during Recharge R3velation. From what I heard, Tiesto is actually getting paid an eye-popping £100,000 pounds for the night, so the RM5 price hike is probably meant to make up for that big amount of output.
Hahaha okay so that didn’t stop me from drinking anyway. In fact, I got eight cans for the price of six. Wowee that was a real PLUS for the night cause beers were exceptionally expensive as previously mentioned in the above paragraph. What exactly happened was that the counter guy took the coupons from me and tried inserting them into the coupon box. But then somehow of the tickets got stuck midway and I just took it before claiming another drink, for FREE! Hahahaha all was done with extreme stealth and not to be tried by newbies.
The drinking marathon kicked off slightly earlier than planned, and I was already on my fourth can by the time Francis came on stage for the opening set. Hahahaha not a bad opening at all! It all started off rather slowly but things picked up during the half time interval and suddenly one of the amps placed on the deck itself FELL OFF! That’s when everybody started cheering and the expression on Francis’ face gave us something to laugh about. Accidental superstar, so he became! We LOVE Francis for playing my all-time favourite “Say Hello” by Deep Dish, as well as Markus Schulz’ “Without You Near“!
The clock struck 10:30pm and Francis had to make way for the Man of the Night already. The music sank in to the growing anticipation of the crowd as he stepped out of the deck. Francis did a really good job, no really! I’m sure he ended the set a happy man, knowing that fact that the crowd really did enjoy to his music!
And I bet nobody expected this at all, cause a lion dance troupe suddenly came on stage and started performing! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, so weird right ???? The lights then turned dim and they proceeded to the center stage, signalling to the home crowd that the man that we’ve been waiting for all night long is about to come on and shower us with some lovely tunes!
Loud aggresive chants of Tiesto’s name echoed as the countdown being shown on the multiple huge projector screens. 5-4-3-2-1 .. Still no music, no Tiesto, no lights? What could have possible happened? And right before you realized it, Tiesto elevated from nowhere and greeted us with open arms and vice versa!
LIKE OMG, IT’S TIESTO ! WTFBBQKNNCCB !
The atmosphere was crazy. Everyone was on a high when Tiesto came on in the most majestic appearance. Never have I seen such an astonishing crowd in my entire raving experience. Not even Zoukout 2005 or R3velation as both were beaten hands down.
From that point onwards, everything that happened was just plain memorable and never will be forgotten for life. Music was good, and it just keeps getting better towards the end of the night. Hahaha now THIS is my cup of tea. Quite a number of people were let down by Tiesto’s set cause it wasn’t HARD enough. Hahahahaha, it seems pretty ridiculous to even expect Tiesto to spin hardstyle in the first place. If you didn’t like it, then why bothered staying ?!?!?!?!?
While we were lamenting over the fact that there still wasn’t any lasers, the sky suddenly turned green and there everyone was brought up back to their feet and started cheering once again. THE LASERS!! Ooh surely took them long enough to unveil the ‘ultimate weapon’. Hehehehehe what a beauty!
“Traffic“, “Adagio For Strings“, “Just Be” and “Forever Today“. All of these tracks weren’t unexpected at all and that’s good because the crowd was sent into a state of trance (Sorry, Armin!). We practically sang along to BT’s “Love Comes Again” and goodness that felt really overwhelming.
JES came on stage as special guest appearance at about 11:40pm but nobody seems to know anything about her. Hahahah actually neither do I, but JES is the main vocals behind Motorcycle’s renowned single “As The Rush Comes” and Solarstone’s “Like a Waterfall”, which he eventually performed.
I was unfortunate not being able to stay for the finale as Tiesto played “Traffic” to sum the whole night up into a memorable rave for year 2006.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT TIESTO IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE 5 ASIA TOUR:
1) Good company : Half of people I know were present, literally!
2) Good music : DJ Tiestocle so fantabulous, he rocked mine till it hurt!
3) Good beer : Heineken all the way. Meet You There!
4) Good location : Reachable on my own, and not too far away from home.
5) PLENTY OF FEMALE SHUFFLERS <3 !
I can’t deny that the best thing about the venue/rave is the fact that parking bays are absolutely FREE and not only that it is accessible, but also spacious. Unlike the previous raves, going in and out of the place was total breeze and we didn’t have to overcome traffic congestions.
I met heck lotsa of people. Let me see if I can name all of them;
Ladies First :P Pictures With Guys, AFTER THE JUMP :P
William, Andara, Ameer, Marxha, Eveline, Jon, Marcus, Brandon, Chaang Yaw, Fahd, Samantha, Sau Jing, Husni, Ben, Marvin, Chin, Krystal, Christina, Lainey, Ivan (Fei Lou Leong), Paul, Foxtro, Lisha, Yea Foong, Calvin (who was working at the re-entry counter) and er.. that’s all I could remember. Armand was there as well, together with Arlen, Areen, Nurul, Intan and many others!
I didn’t really say hi to some of the people I met cause:
1) I don’t personally know them
2) They were busy having a great time on their own
3) I could only see them from afar! ( I have superb visions 8-) )
I also bumped into couple of bloggers but I didn’t really say hi, in fears of not getting a response and given a cold-shoulder instead. If you do recognize me, do leave a message and say hi! Hehehehehehe, also the rest who I met during the night and didn’t mention your name, I didn’t mean to and you know that! Hehehehe!
WHAT I HATED ABOUT TIESTO IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE 5 ASIA TOUR:
1) Expensive beer : I spent RM100 just on drinks alone :(
2) Remaining drink coupon : The crowd went out of control and insufficient beer.
3) Stoners : Need I explain more?
Damn stupid right? They actually RAN OUT OF beers! People had to scurry from one kiosk to another just to get beers. Even bigger problem, beers that weren’t cold at all. Unchilled beers = NO NO. It tastes extraordinarily awful for some odd reasons.
Okay I’m all bummed out after having to type this whole entry for the past hour or so. Hehehehe, yeah I’m slow but hey I gotta upload the videos and images as well! Just like what Michelle had stated in her blog, all procrastinators make really good multitaskers!
MORE PICTURES AND VIDEOS AFTER THE JUMP!
56K AND ADSL Warning :
I meant to blog but procrastination got the better of me, thus having this post delayed since Sunday. So Joel and I decided to go for the Heineken Green Room Session on Saturday night. Honestly speaking, I knew nuts about Chicks On Speed when I first received the invitation from Heineken but little did we know that the gig would turn out so much better than most of us expected to be!
Jalan Strachan, West Sentul Park was nowhere to be seen in my very own geographical map so I had to resort to using Google Earth and I actually managed to locate it! Hahahahaha, finally I get to acknowledge the importance of Google Earth especially for people like me with no sense of direction..
West Sentul Park is actually quite a beautiful place to be and it didn’t take us long to spot the puny guard house which serves as one of the many landmarks to get to the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. Hehehehe, and then you drive along a stretch of narrow road with vibrant coloured banners till the end.
I must say, the venue wasn’t too bad as to be chosen for the Green Room Sessions, albeit a little too small to fit in a much bigger crowd. That also explains why the age limit is 18 and above instead of the usual 21, particularly if to be held at Zouk KL cause of its’ lousy rules and regulations in hopes of retaining the ’standards’ of club patrons and such. Bullshit!
By the way, you ought to agree that green is becoming the new black! KLPaC is quite generous with the parking slots available and you do not have to ever worry about not getting one for yourself. Though walking distance away from the building, we were fast greeted by bright illuminating green signs as you approach the counter and there the queue was. Many actually registered on the spot to get in while we managed to skip the hassle and got our hands chopped for admittance.
By the time we got in at about 9:30pm, the room was already flooded with people who look like couple of generations older than us. Obviously having felt the intimidation, we adjourned to the exclusive lounge and grabbed ourselves the first drink of the night. I only had two bottles since I was driving, plus the fact that those limited edition ïto bottles we had on our hands weren’t cheap either.
It was clearly stated on the invitation that the event would start at 8pm but then knowing Malaysian timing, it took them another extra two hours before Chicks On Speed finally came on the stage and rocked the night with their psychadelic tracks. Joel and I were both laughing upon seeing the trio since they turned up looking like drag queens but hey, looks do no matter as proven on the spot. Chicks On Speed were given a warmth welcome by the loud chantings and didn’t take long for the girls to blend in with the crowd.
It was pure disappointment that Chicks On Speed only spent roughly about an hour on the stage to perform 15 of their renowned tracks before bidding farewell at 12am. Their performance was truely inspiring with such upbeating music to go along with their creditable showmanship. I’m actually downloading two of their albums which seem to be taking forever cause there isn’t any seeds available!
The night was all good, as I actually enjoyed very much the music that Chicks On Speed had to offer. It was a very well deserved break from all those heart-thumping trance music and chill with the slower electro tempo and funky beats instead. Some videos at the end of the post to see what you have missed out on!
And for the moment, you too would wonder if those ‘chicks’ really were on SPEED after what seemed to be a remarkable pounding energetic performance. Chicks On Speed! Chicks On Speed! I’m loving those two bottles I brought home at the end of the night, and tak sampai hati to drink it just yet… :P
I LOVE CHICKS ON SPEED! THANK YOU HEINEKEN! MEET YOU THERE!
3.09MB : Opening act for Chicks On Speed! (0:30 secs)
2.74MB : “Why Don’t You Mind FUCK Your Own Business!” (0:29 secs)
3.69MB : “99 Cents” (0:39 secs)
3.87MB : The climax of the performance. Very uplifting track indeed! (0:41 secs)
3.01MB : “The Household Song” (0:30 secs)
Holy mocha rhumba! In the name of Simba the Lion King, please get rid of these heat rashes all over my body! There hasn’t been any regular updates lately due to the ever increasing amount of work I have in college. Plus, the fact that I was sick and has been on various kind of medications since the past weeks. I couldn’t get my Hepatitis B jab as well due to the allery, so doctor decided to give me EVEN MORE tablet pills to consume.
Everything’s improving at the moment, after having to endure nights of painstaking itch with the company of my endless flow of assignments. To make things even better, Friday is finally here and I would like to reinstate that Computer Graphic class is a total bore and waste of time! Wowee! Everyone leaves for home when I actually reach college for a miserable two hour class. So happening!
Anyway, Subang was dealt a severe blow by an unexpected rainstorm and bringing the whole town into a standstill. As quoted by the residents of Subang Jaya, the phenomenal occurence that happened in the late afternoon was unlike any we’ve seen before in our entire lives. Having stayed in Subang for 19 years, the rainstorm left a trail of destruction and thus affecting the road traffic. Trees were being uprooted and falling over to create one hell of a chaotic scene as traffic lights became out of order.
Traffic became horrendously awful as rows of cars were forced to squeezed into one tiny lane as the brave souls of Subang residents continuously poured in effort to remove the obstacles from the roads. Even the construction workers on duty at the SS19 junction were given the task of a police traffic to divert the flow of … er, traffic.

I’m not really sure how long the rainstorm lasted but it was reportedly mentioned at about 30 minutes and all that it took to wreak havoc. The extent of the damage to the town is far worse than I expected it to be. Floor tiles can actually be seen scattered along the side of the roads, together with billboards and banners!
Thankfully, not a single casualty of the raining disaster was reported but I do know one who happens to be the indian lady cleaner that my mom hires. She was supposed to come to my place today but then it is learnt that she was literally blown away by the strong gushing wind yesterday and ended up with a broken hand. It was bad news for both my mom and the cleaner but there isn’t any choice. The accident was uncalled for. And I sense great danger here as well, for I fear that mom will eventually summon me to mop the floor instead.. OH NO!!!
If you must know, the indian lady cleaner is actually quite big-sized. And come to think of it, I haven’t really come across any who is not big-sized.. Hahahaha it’s not meant to be an insult! Well, just something to ponder on, and that’s besides the point. Even a big-sized lady could be moved by the strong wings yesterday, just imagine me having caught off guard in the midst of the havoc. I guess I would have ended up being blown to Port Klang or maybe Kelana Jaya.
Whoah, not THAT’s scary…. *shudders*
Apart from that, my Thursday was well spent with friends who are of the same level of sanity that I possess, and Photography class is never boring because we get to hide ourselves in the breezing cold lab while listening to our hot lecturer talk. Presentation for the first exercise was held yesterday and I guess we did pretty well. She liked my studio shot!
We didn’t get to do much during Illustration class because our beloved lecturer was down with migraine, and so she was applying the minyak angin non-stop. Wahliao, the air in the class was becoming unbearable to a certain point that it started choking us to tears. Classes are never fun without a short session of camwhoring!
As for Champions League updates, holders Liverpool have crashed out of the competition sensationally with two subliminal goals from Simao and Fabrizo Micowatchamalit, however you spell his name. Hahaha not like the result surprised me though since Benfica were the ones who knocked Manchester United out of the competition, so it is only predictable for Liverpool to join the Red Devils at the expense of having gifted away the title to another new contender.

I must say, 3-0 seems a little tad harsh for Liverpool who have given so much energy and effort to put up a fine display, and then only to be caught off guard at two simple attempts. But oh well, what comes around goes around. 5 times winner or 2 times winner, both Liverpool and Manchester United are now going to watch the home at home sweet home instead. OH, did I not mention about the Blues as well who were demolished by The Catalans just days ago? Wowee! This is why we love FOOTBALL!
Afterall, the most unpredictable team to make it through to the quarter-finals are Arsenal who have been suffering from a dip in performance. Real Madrid were contained in the goalless draw at Highbury during second leg of the knockout stage clash.
Okay dinner time!
Second week of college flew by pretty swiftly, and not surprising to see the clock ticking twice the speed as my weekend is about to come to an end once again. Doesn’t change the fact that class on Friday is total boredom as I attended my first Computer Graphic class of semester 4 during the late afternoon. Learning from mistake, I left my place at 12:00 noon sharp just to avoid the horrendous jam in front of my house right after the Friday prayers. Just imaging stoning with another stoner at a nearby bus terminal for 2 hours during lunch time.
Saturday was a great one though with dad bringing the whole of family out to city centre for luxury shopping! Wow, that’s like the first time ever since a decade ago. Our first stop was at KLCC since dearie sis wanted to check out her bag at Gucci retail store. Negative outcome since she didn’t come across anything that fancies her. We then took a slow walk to the KLCC Aquaria centre since everyone, particularly dad who was extra curious about it.
Dad is a person who has strong affections towards the flora and fauna. He is one adventurous old man who climbs hills and mountains just to get upclose and personal with the nature. So being a fish lover himself, dad was very excited of what was to come as he anxiously anticipated the trip. As we walked past the tunnel leading us to the Aquaria park, dad quickly stepped out of the complex and only to be greeted by another long stretch of path IN the carpark. “Diu nya seng…” as he accidentally let those words slipped off his mouth.
We finally got there, and dad quickly got the admission fee settled while cheekily asked for senior citizen price (which he didn’t get cause only 60 years and above are considered as one). The whole settings made me feel just like a kid once again. Aquaria KLCC is not to be underestimated as you’re greeted with warmth welcome by the staff over there and by using a smartcard to get pass the turnstile.
I was smart enough to bring my brand new DSLR, Romeo and went trigger happy after that, taking hundreds of photos without stopping. Dad sounded like a tour guide himself as he started explaining to us each and every inhabitants on display. So pro! But then I guess dad kinda got bored of it after a while so he decided to mention silly stuff like “wow.. this looks good if served deep fried”. THEN, the REAL tour guide who so happened to stand right beside my dad, was staring at him while trying to contain his laughter. Hahahaha.
Not too bad for RM28 per entrance, and the tour actually lasted for quite a while. I got an additional RM8 off since I’m still young and fresh and studying. Hahahaha. Dad was full of praises of Aquaria KLCC as we adjourned to Starhill Gallery after that.
Feeling contented of the trip, I took out my Romeo from the bag to check out the pictures that I took earlier on. However, something was amiss as I couldn’t playback the images and then only to find that the CF card was corrupted. Therefore, all datas were lost and no pictures to show you how beautiful Aquaria KLCC was. I was upset, and in disillusionment. Not even the luxurious dinner at Gonbei Restaurant could enlighten me!
And speaking of which, Gonbei Restaurant truly is authentic and class of it’s own in every aspect. This is where you’d find japanese cuisine like no other in Malaysia besides Japan. Gonbei Restaurant is located at the Relish floor of Starhill Gallery and can be easily spotted with the grand and zen touch to its’ interior. You wait to be seated as the waitress attend to you and starts hitting the drum to signal the number of candidates to be served. So canggih!!
Food wise might be a little limited since Gonbei doesn’t serve the usual dinner sets and all. The menu is plain ala-carte style so you have to order a variety of dishes to satisfy your tummy. Quality is undoubtedly superior, although the price tags are questionable. I’m not sure if it was worth paying for the amount of food we had but the bill came RM500+. Definite a good dining experience but don’t go there too often. You might just end up being grilled at the teppanyaki area!
But then again, I only managed to salvage couple of pictures from the loss of data and the remaining that Im gonna show you later on are those to consolidate the trip to KL last night. Sister bought her purse at the Louis Vuitton retail store and was all smiles throughout the whole outing. Mom then dropped by at the ..er, some kinda watch shop and have her eyes on the ________ now. We will be making another trip down to KL this coming weekend!
Weekend is like the only time because it’s either:
1) Dad is never home, or;
2) I’m never home. :D!
We’ve also noticed the significant drop in traffic on Saturday. What an unseemly sight to see empty road right ahead of you during weekends in KL? Must have been the sudden increase of petrol price. Hehehehehe, not such a bad thing after all! I had my first pump since the price hike and did felt a bit of sting. I couldn’t do anything but to watch helplessly as the fuel gauge goes up WAY TOO SLOW while the Ringgit (RM) meter increases like nobody’s business!
Sigh.. Anyway I’m off now. Gotta wake up early to college for studio photoshooting! Romeo will be making his first ever appearance in LUCT soon! Juliet (My Sony PSP!) must be feeling lonely now so I guess I’ll play with her for a while before going to bed :P

What a huge sigh of relief knowing that Manchester United have FINALLY landed a trophy after two dreadful seasons in both English and European football. Though Carling Cup may not be regarded as highly when compared with the rest but times have change. With other teams constantly evolving into much dangerous threats, winning a silverware is no easy task without a good healthy competition from rivals.
Wigan Athletics were unlucky to have lost in such big margin since they pretty much brought up a good fight for the League Cup. You can also say that Manchester United deserved to win 4-0 because they were astounding and let the football did the talkings. Mind you, Wigan Athletic are no easy rivals with the likes of Jason Roberts, Henri Camara and Jimmy Bullard. They had also beaten ARSENAL to reach the Finals.
It was a good game and both teams won something at the end of the match. Well done!

Woohoo! Another Heineken GR Session this month with German electro maestros “Chick On Speed” taking the hot seat as we indulge selves in some European avant-garde electro live settings. Yet another opportunity to grab a limited edition of the Heineken’s ïto bottle or two (I had eight the previous session..) as you hear the clangs ringing in your ear even after the gig.
Unlike the previous Green Room Sessions, Heineken decided to host the party at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre instead. That also means the age limit is 18 and above only and do register at Heinekenmusic Malaysia to stand a chance and win an exclusive invite to the party!
“Meet You There” :)
Oh, and I received this in my mail couple of days ago. Thought it’d be cool to share with you guys cause I find it pretty damn interesting!
