Just before I begin on rambling about my uneventful second week of holiday, here’s a last minute reminder to all your party people that DJ Scot Project is back in KL to rock your socks once again. To those who find Scot Project’s name vaguely familiar, he was the one who showered you ravers with dosages of hard trance during Recharge@R3velation back in August last year.
Do note that this is NOT a rave event as it will be happening at the newly refurbished Ruums Bar & Club (formerly known as Warp/Channel). Hehehe right, before you even think of boycotting the event just because of the past that haunts your decision, drop by at their website and take a look for yourself. Apparently, Ruums Bar & Club is under a whole new team of management and they’re here to make Zouk a run for their money.
Definitely looks tempting but unfortunately, I won’t be here as I will be off to Marang, Kuala Terengganu with three other dicks for the long-awaited road trip! How we always talked about getting one another wasted by the beach and then laughing at their hangover looks the following morning, BBQ for dinner with our very own beer marinated chicken and playing Winning Eleven on PS2 with booze… It’s gonna be fun!
Hehehe now that the trip is just days away, none of us seems to be prepared and no, we haven’t gotten anything for the upcoming trip too. I spent the whole of Tuesday watching three Korean dramas and it made my day all gloomy and depressing one. Tsk tsk, why can’t the people of kimchi-land come up with a movie that doesn’t cause viewers to tear!? Sappy koreans, I tell you!
It was a pretty spontaneous decision that I stay at home and wet my pillow with tears, considering the fact that everyone else was still busy studying or having fun with their girlfriends. Some hadn’t even woke up from sleep following the late nights due to World Cup 2006. So I sat down, put on Innocent Steps and actually got indulged into korean movies very much! Like all of a sudden, I had the sudden urge to go pick up dancing after watching the show.
From what I saw, both Jang Chae-rin (Geun-yeong Mun) and Na Young-sae (Keon-hyeong Park) seem to be real dancers as they performed/acted really well and convincingly in the movie. It all started off with an injured dancer, widely regarded as one of the bests in Korea, who was unfortunate to be caught in a foul play by his closest rival and left forgotten in the past.
Young-sae was determined in winning the next upcoming competition, thus seeking help from his manager to find a partner by importing one from Mainland China. Chae-rin, who happens to be a decoy of his real sister, had no experiences or whatsoever but that was later defied by Young-sae who relentlessly taught Chae-rin from scratch.
Innocent Steps beg to differ from the stereotypical ‘hero-saves-the-day’ kinda story plot by adding a twist of fate in it, that shows Young-sae having to confront the cruel fate that his inital partner, Chae-rin dancing with his closest rival instead. I will leave the middle part undisclosed for you to reveal by picking up a copy at the closest VCD store, and I don’t mean pirated VCD stall/peddler!

It’s Geon-yeung Mun! AHHHH! *shrieks and wave hands frantically*
I really like Innocent Step because the movie reflects on what real love is all about and how it begins. You don’t even need to kiss or hot steamy actions under the blanket to signify one’s love towards the other. But then of course, Geon-yeung Mun is a double plus to the show because she is like SO damn cute! OMG… *melts instantly* Hehehehe, okayla Keon-hyeong Park deserves a mention as well cause he’s got nice body and the fact that he can actually dance *swoons*. But everytime I see Geon-yeung, I just .. *melts once again*
Nextly, after having bit of tears wiped off while watching the credits roll, I moved on to the next one called My Tutor Friend. Unlike the previous movie, My Tutor Friend doesn’t really contain much sentimental values in it, but nonetheless an enjoyable one. Sang-woo Kwon plays a ruthless spoilt 21 year old named Ji-hoon. He comes from a wealthy family and is still struggling to graduate from high school, therefore Ji-hoon’s mom requested help from her old buddy whose daughter happens to be a, well, tutor.
Su-wan (Ha-Neul Kim) was then summoned to provide tuition lessons for Ji-hoon who practically doesn’t give a damn and goes on with his lifeless acitivities. Unfazed by the ignorance, Su-wan remains determined and focused on her job that she’s getting paid for. Though it didn’t take long for her to lose patience and confronted Ji-hoon, thus making her the first tutor in doing so whilst the rest eventually gave up.
My Tutor Friend shows us the positive sides of having a strong determination and never-say-die attitude that actually bring one benefits. Just as being shown in the movie, Su-wan decided to stay on even though Ji-hoon was nowhere to be seen, and that she was actualyl capable of changing Ji-hoon for the better. And with that, comes love as well but can they both really get on with? Will everything pay off at the end of the show? Why don’t you pick up a copy at the closest VCD store, and I don’t mean pirated VCD stall/peddler!
And last but not least, it took me much courage to actually pick up a copy My Girl & I after hearing so many stories about this movie that makes you go tearing frenzy. Starring Cha Tae-hyun and Song Hye-gyo, this might seem like an odd couple, but don’t be deceived by the clownly looks of Cha Tae-hyun! As for Song Hye-gyo, she is no stranger when it comes to sappy korean dramas, well except maybe for Full House, but still..

“Everyday is a honeymoon whenever I’m with you”
It was 1am and probably the best time for me to wet my pillow for the SECOND time in the span of 12 hours since everyone else was asleep. I braced myself and put on the DVD and began staring at the TV blankly. It all started off real slow, with the usual courting sessions and all. Su-ho (Cha Tae-hyun) was a nerdy classmate of Su-uen (Song Hye-gyo) and never did he realize that Su-uen has been watching him all the time.
There were slices of humour that blends in well, as Su-ho’s classmates go berserk knowing the fact that the guy, probably nerdiest in the whole school is going out with the most beautiful girl in the world. Su-ho’s grandpa is an undertaker and prepares funeral for the deceased ones. Hehehehe okay, I thought you might just be interested in knowing that.
So both of them really got along well and happily, until one fine day when the dark clouds shroud over the couple’s future. Su-eun collapses during their getaway trip and Su-ho finds out a horribly tragic truth. Can they still hold on to the very first love they’ve longed for? Why don’t you pick up a copy at the closest VCD store, and I don’t mean pirated VCD stall/peddler!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I didn’t mean to spoil your mood leh, and neither do I feel like spoiling everything here so you can watch it for yourself and wet your pillow as well. Hehehehe! I did, and I’m glad that I did so because that goes to show that I’m merely a human being after all.
And so that concludes the post of the day with lousy reviews of three korean dramas! I’m actually late for gym so I guess I better be off now.. Ciaos!
