Only two days remaining before college resumes and here I am dealing with the pile of assignments left untouched since holiday has begun. Life’s been busy with so many social threatening activities to participate in so I’m really sorry if I haven’t been around much lately. Moreover, Sexy Thing is off to Cambodia with Kel Li for vacation so I’m going to be all alone for the next couple of days since the Kambings are back in Down Under already.

So I was at Zouk on Friday night for GLOBAL pres. Johan Gielen due to work. Well, partying IS part of my work so I’m not complaining. Hehehehe, the night started off in a rather dull manner with an empty reception as we were there early. Much thanks to Fono for bringing us in and Krystal for the guestlist. There was a bit of mishap but I guess everything’s solved then.

Considering how much of a loyal club patron Krystal is, she is one of the few who can actually walk in and out of Zouk without any restrictions. Additionally, she gets to reserve a table without having to purchase bottles or whatsoever. That also means we had a rather SOBER night as the only drink on table was beer. I’m pretty much in love with their midnight madness rate :)

As expected, the crowd only started to build when it was already 12 and I was actually getting a little impatient. Thank goodness for the company I was with and not forgetting the beer that eventually numbed me throughout the whole night. Hehehehe, guess I drank way too fast as I pretty much downed each and every glass I managed to chance upon. :P

Johan Gielen took over the consoles from Fono at about 12:30am and immediately sent the crowd into a frenzy. Those who have been active in the raving scene should know as Johan Gielen was the only DJ named TWICE in Recharge REVELATION line-ups in consecutive years (2004 and 2005).

Well, so he started dishing out some rather peculiar tracks that I’ve never heard of and that actually went on for quite a moment before I got really bored and went out to catch some fresh air. I was also been given honour having met up with Richard of Klubbers.net and talked quite a bit before going back in to bid farewell with Chin as we had to make a move already.

The only tracks I could recognize from the first two hours of Johan’s set are Alex Morph and Rank 1- Life Less Ordinary and Physical Overdrive from his very own Revelations album. Instead, his style differs very much from the times when Johan performed at both REVELATION raves and last night proved to be one of the most boring outings ever.

Well, so I kinda had fun on the first day of Chinese New Year. It turned out much better than I expected to be, but what’s new? The day kicked off rather early with vegetarian dish and big fat chicken for breakfast. Pretty heavy, no? Hehehehehe well it’s sorta like a tradition so whatever goes.

Unlike the previous years where my paternal relatives would come to my place, we decided to drop by my aunt’s instead due to the fact that Ah Ye is no longer here. Everyone seemed… happy? I mean, we should be considering it’s “Chinese New Year” but then it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. How I miss the sight of Ah Ye walking around with a cigarette on his hand and cluelessly feeding my dad’s fish with seeds for the birds instead. Hahahahaha..

So anyway, we pretty much just chilled at my aunt’s place by watching TV since there wasn’t any ang pow exchanges. That also means I lost a BIG fortune this year! Gah.. But I’m not complaining. Things got pretty bored and the camgolo in me was screaming pain, so what else?

Well since it’s getting late, we then adjourned to my maternal grandparents place and boy, was it happening! The contrast is so obvious as compared to last year when everyone else was just loitering at 1 Utama instead. And what’s Chinese New Year without gambling? Uncles and cousins were crazily obsessed in their game of In Between with pool up to sixteen hundreds of ringgit!

I didn’t really gamble much this year round since I’m not suppose to. Just a couple of games and came back home to stone. Did I mention that it rained on the first day of Chinese New Year as well in the longest time ever? I don’t remember when was the last time it actually poured during festive season! It was so breezy, I felt like cuddling underneath the quilt and just sleep the day away.

And since I didn’t really get the chance to post any images taken during CNY2006, here’s a comparison to the current year. I vow to live a much healthier lifestyle this year instead :P The year that was…

Heard it was dead quiet and empty too. Ghetto Heaven @ Mainroom was canceled due to poor reception. Hahahahaha…

Right… so I’ll be watching Ghost Rider tonight at Cineleisure. Contrary to the empty streets and town, everyone is actually stuck in shopping malls because we had problems getting movie tickets and looking for parking! Geez… Seems like not many are really keen on driving back to hometown nowadays.. It’s mundane and becoming much of a routine. Not forgetting the traffic congestion on North-South highways.. KILLER!

RIGHT! So before you people start throwing eggs at me, I would just like to express my sincere apologies for having neglected Fractionize YET AGAIN. As much as I love posting, I have also been pretty much occupied with LIFE threatening activities that have kept me away from the PC for as long as I can actually remember.

Whatever it is, let’s not get into that, shall we? Since most of everyone will be back in hometown to usher into the Chinese New Year with their beloved family, I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all my readers and everyone else a Happy Chinese New Year! Do drive safe and party with moderations yeah? Valentine’s Day might be a thing of a past but ALWAYS REMEMBER that safety comes first :P

And so life continues without the presence of Ah Ye. He might have lost the battle to cancer but won the heart of many instead. Ah Ye was a really fun and loving person. Looking back at the pictures he took has given me the chance to trace the origin of my genes that make up to the person that I am today. Apparently, they (dad, uncle and Ah Ye himself) were all very thin as well!

I also manage to lay my hands on Ah Ye’s 30 year old Nikon SLR. I don’t remember the exact model (FA, I think) but it comes together with SB-18 Speedlight! It truly is an antique. Seems that Ah Ye loved taking pictures as well since we found a whole stack of black & white photos. I honestly think Ah Ye looked much better during his later years.

I’m going to miss Ah Ye dearly :( but there’s not point doing so because the person himself is already gone to a much better place, as I would love to believe so. Guess I’ll just live with the memories left behind and move on. Humans are created in such a way that one wouldn’t appreciate until it’s gone.

Well, surely has it been another quick week and classes have resumed with same faces for the next coming semester. Moreover, the number of students have increased by three folds! Unfortunately, the new intake isn’t very convincing and I’m so disappointed not having able to spot any ‘inspirational’ ones :(

HaHAhahahahahah okay I should keep that to myself. Looking back at the pictures taken made me realize that I have plenty to catch up on! I haven’t posted a proper entry with decent amount of pictures in the longest time ever! Eesh… Like I said, I need inspiring individuals who can help me out in sorting out this problem…
