REPORT: Singapore Trip 06′ (Part 2/2)

30

March

Yet another end of semester beckons with datelines to meet and catching ups to do. You just know it when you realize that 24 hours a day is no longer sufficient. Okay, I might have procrastinated big time but still, time sure flies without you even noticing it!

Contrary to that, I’m actually taking a break now by blogging on the very much anticipated event last year. Yes, I know it has been almost FOUR months since my Singapore trip came and gone. But well, some things are better late than never done, no?

After the first night of expensive booze, second day kicked off in a rather slumber mood with everyone struggling to crawl out of the bed. Everyone looked pretty haggard after partying throughout the whole night with only less than 7 hours of sleep.

Well, it’s the second day of the trip so we didn’t expect much to be done on that day itself except for visitation to the city again and meeting up with friends. Smirnoff was exhibiting how their fine vodka can turn coffee into tasteless drinkable water. We were there to witness it and still find how miraculous it can be until now. May and Choy were the hosts of the event!

Moreover, Smirnoff were giving out free complimentary passes to Ministry of Sound for those who had the guts to try on their drinks, and so we did! Right, so we did end up at MOS again on Friday night but it was just an usual short outing as we didn’t want to tire ourselves for the BIG event the following day. More on that later.

We proceeded to the beautiful suburbs of Singapore by train and MRT just to look for our ever beautiful Emelia and family. I just have to emphasize on my huge affection towards their public transportation because it’s soo convinient and … yeah! Had pasta for lunch at Tampine Mall before adjourning to Suntec City itself to meet up with Jed (WHERE IS MY CARL’S.JR?). Dinner was awful and that is all about it worth mentioning.

Then, it was back to hotel to dress up for Ministry of Sound (again)! Coincidentally, it was a Hed Kandi event night and Kel Li,who is such a huge fan of them, instantly turned into a maniac with so much energy flowing in her throughout the whole night. Didn’t get to stay long though as we dropped by at the Kandi Bar itself on the way back to the hotel.

It was to be yet another day, well at least that’s what I thought until Chin called after I put on my pyjamas and all. Chin came together with William, Krystal and few others, so guess what? I had to walk all the way BACK to Ministry of Sound to meet up with them. I didn’t go for re-entry though because I was too lazy to wash up again as it is pretty smoke on the inside.

And that pretty sums up to the overall Singapore trip we had FOUR months ago. I will update on the ZoukOut 06′ experience on the next coming post k? Now be a good child, and help your parents out with the chores.

Have a nice weekend, and go easy on the booze, people!

Champions League Trophy Tour @ The Curve

March

I actually had fun on Friday night when Zouk Kuala Lumpur celebrated their 3rd Anniversary with style. It also serves as a commemoration of winning the best local club award as voted by the public for three consecutive years! I kinda had to work on the night as a “paparazzi” but it’s all good! Just be sure to come back for a brief review about the glamarous event!

So Vincent, Nat and I dropped by at The Curve yesterday to catch a glimpse of the European Champions League Trophy that is currently on tour around Asia. Unless I strike a lottery some time soon, it’d probably be a once in a lifetime chance to get upclose and personal with the trophy itself.

Well, I didn’t really get the chance to touch the trophy itself but then knowing the fact that some of the renowned world class footballers having lifted the trophy gives me an euphoric vibe. Okay…. though I can’t say the same when I see people kissing the cup because it has also been kissed by thousands others before that, and I seriously doubt the trophy has been thoroughly wiped since morning..

The place was unexpectedly crowded with football freaks donned in their favourite club jersey. How I wished I could have wore mine but then cannot.. Replica tickets of Champions League Finals and other jerseys were also on display together with a 24 player foosball table! Pretty cool actually but I didn’t bother trying because it would take forever for the ball to reach one end to another..

I also managed to bump into few familiar looking faces; Shaz, Sammie, Sylvia and Timothy to name a few. Kel Li was there for dinner together with Kelvin and Melvin. Surprisingly, my remaining members of Raining Trio were present too with Fono and Jean. Okay, maybe not so few after all.. Thanks for the VIP passes anyway, Timothy!

And basically that made my day :) Randomness never fails to add charms to my ever unpredictable life! Appointment has been postponed YET again till Tuesday afternoon. Am gonna have to rush to Hartamas right after my class.

Clueless? Do drop by again after Tuesday and you’d know. Have a nice weekend, people! Go slow on the booze!

GLOBAL pres. Markus Schulz @ Zouk KL

March

Honestly speaking, adjourning to club for three consecutive nights IS NOT FUN. Last two weekends ago has been a crazy one with work and back-to-back parties to attend to. I swear this will be the first and last time I would ever do so because it is both mentally and physically draining. I woke up feeling like a 30 year old the following day.

While the rest of the events I attended deserve to be mentioned here, I thought this actually tops the priority list and what else has it got to be besides Markus Schulz at Zouk KL on Friday night!?

And throughout the whole endurance, I found out that my alcohol tolerance has gone down tremendously. I suppose that’s not really a bad thing after all as it encourages me to cut down on my drinks! But then again, that didn’t help in the situation when we actually had two bottles of Black Labels towering gracefully over the glasses and mixer bottles.. Erk!

I actually worked on Thursday night, covering Urban Republic at Maison KL so I got to chill on Markus Schulz’ night instead. Together with the same company and decent amount of drinks, it was a great night out with the man who flew all the way from US to enlighten us with his ever uplifting set. I’m not sure if that was the first gig ever by Markus Schulz at Zouk KL, but locals would still find him familiar for his contribution to a fantastic night back in Recharge@R3VELATION at Port Dickson.

The night kicked off rather slowly with Terence C dishing out some unlikely progressive tunes before Markus Schulz took over the consoles at about 12:50am. To sum the whole night, it was pretty good even without much of alcohol influence because someone decided to go gung-ho on the drinks first so I had to take care of her instead :P But nah.. that was besides the point, I couldn’t drink much either but it’s all good!

And speaking of which, I seriously have got to update on my trancedictionary because I couldn’t recognize 2/3 of the songs Markus Schulz played on that particular night! Bummers… Hehehehe, and well.. I’m sorry to say but no videos YET again this time around because Monica hasn’t resurrected from her untimely death and Kel Li brought the camera without a CF Card in it so… pictures will do!

Last but not least, happy belated birthday Ben! It was great meeting you AGAIN but sad to see that you were still standing at the end of the night. Hahahahaha, message me if you want the pic and I’ll send it to you personally.

After having delayed for almost a year, I finally managed to pick up my membership card on the night itself despite receiving so many reminders from Zouk every month. Come to think of it, I actually applied for one TWO years back. Time surely flies, no? Hehehehehe! That’s all for now. Will blog again sometime soon. Thanks Markus Schulz, Zouk KL and the company I was with!
