Sweltering hot weather and late lunch don’t go along well cause it makes you feel very much like a jellyfish at this hour. Dear is still in college as I sit down in front of this old piece of junk trying to kill time. And so I was browsing through the giga collection of pictures I have taken over the years. Some pictures really crack me up though Im not going to go into detail about that.
And I just realized that I havent blogged anything about Zouk KL’s 3rd Anniversary! What a shame :( Well, something not to be forgotten about as I was still working as freelance photographer back then. Yean, who belongs to Zouk’s marketing team requested me to join the rest of the photographers to snap pictures of celebrities on that very glamorous night itself.
So I did, and boy did I had one helluva great night snapping away gorgeous people, with Maya Karin being the first person I took pictures of. Daym, she looks freaking hot in person! Well then of course, not forgetting to mention, I have the most beautiful date as my partner on the night even though she spent more time hogging the bars for free flow instead. Tsk ;P
Atmosphere was vibrant with great vibes flowing down the red carpet that leads VIPS into the main Zouk complex. While some others were too shy to have their pictures taken, my company of the night thought otherwise so, and gracefully posed for the cameras. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to snap any of them in their most vain moment.
As my fingers start swelling after having taken hundreds of pics, out came what claims to be Zouk’s very own Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Bruce Lee and co. They were just a bunch of entertainers who tried a little too hard. Just my opinion though. Jessica Rabbit looked so manly, it’s not funny at all!
And what’s a night out at the renowned club without bumping into friends? Hehehehehe, the people I met are mainly regulars so it didn’t pose much of a surprise to me. Hooi San was spotted with her usual group of friends as they venture to Velvet religiously, whereas Amy… Well she works was working for Zouk. Not forgetting Eugene with his girlfriend And Avril as well! Bumped into her at the VIP lounge upstairs. Good to see you!
Without wasting much time, we proceeded to the mainroom and got ourselves couple of drinks. The bar was full throughout the whole night so claiming for my complimentary drinks were such a hassle. Therefore, I didn’t drink much and stayed sober. Hooi San was so kind to offer me one of her free beers knowing that I was too lazy to queue up for my own drinks! Thanks!
I guess the main highlight of the whole event would probably be the fashion showcase by Miss Sixty and Energie. I was fortunate enough to earn a place right in front of the stage, thus having able to snap some really beautiful pictures. Belinda C was the emcee of the night and she looks pretty too!
What’s a celebration without popping the champagne with confettis and fireworks? I was so close to the stage, I could taste the the essence of champagne in the air and almost had my shirt burnt by the fireworks on the sides. Dangerous to be a photographer!
Once everything was done, the regular night resumed with Terence C dishing out some really good tunes before Fono took over and blew our heads with a very uplifting set. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to stay till the end of the night but I managed to catch Tiesto’s Lethal Industry (Richard Durand remix) before I left! Freaking awesome..
We stood right in front of the deck, towering over the rest of the crowd with the stage shaking like it was gonna collapse anytiem soon. Hehehehe I still remember Terence was fooling with Chin by flashing her with the back strobelights. Quite blinding after a while…
Overall, I had a great night and the people with me made it all the more memorable! I have to leave now so I’ll leave the pictures to do the remaining talkings. Will be watching Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds’ End with my dear. Bye all!
Compulsary attendance: The Raining Trio!
