As the clock continues to tick, I can’t help but to dwell on the fact that I actually am leaving for Australia sooner than expected. How time flies especially when you are having much fun and thinking that everything has finally settled down.
10 days to be exact, and I’ll be off to Melbourne for my degree. Another year and half; if all goes well, that is. Hopefully I get to fly home during summer break, else I’d be slaving my ass there earning extra cash to fund the much anticipated Sensation White outdoor event! Apparently news breaking out sound convincing.
Oh well. Will hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. While my fellow locals get to party at Malaysia’s debut Global Gathering 2007, I’d be looking forward to Godskitchen Australian Tour that is to be held on the same month as well;
Australian outdoor events would probably be the only thing that could cater to my trance needs since I’m not much of a hardstyle fan after all. And so I’ve heard that clubs over there aren’t exactly cheap either. Guestlist but still have to pay? Hahahahaha, that’s funny.
Sorry for the lack of updates as I’m currently busy with my preparation for Australia. Will blog again real soon!
This would have come sooner but I was pretty much occupied with preparations of my departure to Melbourne as well as completing some freelance job I was assigned to. The whole process has been a smooth one, now only with the medical check-up as part of the visa requirements to do.
The only setback would have to be the fact that I am now leaving sooner than expected. Will have to start shopping for necessities by this weekend! Will update you people on my exact departure date later on.
So, I never really had much sober nights to count for when it comes to Maison because of their much tempting jugs of Long Island teas. This night was no different especially when one is to celebrate his/her 21st birthday. 3 bottles of Dewars 12, 1 bottle of Absolut, 4 Flaming Lambos’ and 1 bottle of Heineken as the finisher. The night ended pretty messy with feint memories. Hahahahaha..
Turnout wasn’t too bad, albeit a couple of communication breakdown which led to a couple of unnecessary absentees. As usual, we have got the Familyof5ive and most of the goatbrothers present together with Joel’s very own friends. Plus, it’s Maison la.. EVERYONE is there. Go there alone also no need to be scared of being lonely.
While everyone else was busy partyning the night away, May had to endure the thick smoke with eyes closed because her contacts were really dry. Hehehehe, that made her seem like she’s gotten wasted even before the clock struck midnight.
See.. Told you everyone was there. Confirm cannot run away.
Unsurprisingly, Joel suffered most since it was HIS birthday anyway. The first two flaming lambos’ didn’t reall do much harm as he was still smiling away as seen above in the picture with Manraj. Stupid fella can seriously drink … BUT…
Even the best falls down sometimes.. Hehehehe! The fourth lambo’ really put Joel right on the brink of high, topping up with the consecutive shots of Dewars 12 which we opened towards the end of the night. I’m still surprised how we actually managed to finish the bottle since everyone else left.
Casualties of the night… Hahahaha! Chin has the most cynical thought of buying Joel a bottle of beer and that literally knocked him out at the end of the night. It was…. plain messy! Chin finished the remaining bottler of beer herself and KOed too. Hahahahaha! I was so high it took me quite some time to sober up… We ended up at Williams’ for supper and then back home after that.
The next day was spent recuperating as we prepared for yet another night out, this time being at Zouk instead. I have blogged about the night and you can read more about XParty: Bass Agents and Fono!
Hope everyone had a great night! I believe Joel surely did! Happy 21st birthday again! I had equally just as much fun too, considering the fact that I had to deal with puke TWICE in two nights… Read more about the XParty and you shall find out :D
Bye! Gonna watch Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silversurfer with goatbros Joel and Vincent!
EDIT: OMG.. I just realized that 7 of my 8 latest entries are about parties and events! Pfft…
Allow me to wish my beloved grandma a happy birthday again before I begin with the massacring of the organizers behind UV Nation. It was a family dinner so envitably, I had to pass up on lunch and other miscellaneous activities during the day with the fellow goatbrothers and dear.
Looking for a parking space wasn’t much of a problem as we decided to park at Taman Tun and walked over to 1 Utama instead. Well, not like it’s miles away from the destination, plus getting out of the congested area would be much easier after the rave. Right, and so came the horrendous queue that I very much expected especially when one attends to a rave late. Call me a kiasu but I’d prefer getting tagged as early as 2pm before the crowd starts building up.
It took us almost an hour just to get our asses up at the rooftop carpark since there was only ONE way up. Worse still, the organizer being such smart asses just had to open up THREE different entrances for the overflowing crowd. The scenario was exactly the same as a normal rainy day on Federal Highway when accident just occurs naturally, causing three lanes to squeeze into a bottleneck.
Then of course, in the midst of the havoc, came a very surprised guest who we never expected to see until later during the night.. and it was Mr. Benny himself! Hahahaha poor him having to get sweaty and all before getting down into action. He walked right past me and managed to snap a picture of him, though it didn’t really turn out rather convincing.
Now you know why… Hehehehehe! Right, so our complaints didn’t just stop right there. After having to deal with 45 gruelling minutes of nasty crowd, we crawled our way to the entrance of the race in horror. Location wasn’t much of a ideal place to hold a rave in the first place, though I must say that the UV theme actually did tickled my fancy bud. It was dark, dodgy and spooky at the same time. The whole thing looked like some kinda illegal underground rave.
Moving on to the bars, that couldn’t cater to the needs of the patrons. Like WHAT the BLOODY FUCK? It was only 11:30pm and they fucking ran out of beers. Now the organizer seriously deserves a kick in the nuts. Bloody cunts! (Brian, I learnt that from you :P) I had to scurry around the place, avoiding pillars and blind people, in search of beers! Really a bitch and pain in the ass at the same time. And the drink token girls weren’t much of an innovative idea either, for they wander around quickly with those scrawny legs of theirs. Eish!
Oh, and much thanks to 7aste.com for my two complimentary drinks, though it didn’t really made any difference so I choked up another RM60 on beers. The night would have sucked balls dry if it wasn’t because of those irresistibly beautiful green cans of Heineken. And how can one say no to free beers especially when you were offered another 5 cans!? I had 11 cans altogether and ended throwing up 2 at the end of the night. Hehehehe!
Half the KL population and probably 85% of the PJ people were all present. Bumped into a lot of people, that i both know and don’t. Then again, moving about the venue was such a pain in the ass so we just stayed at one spot till the end of the night. Didn’t get to meet up with Ryan, Calvin, Brian and eventually lost track of my cousins too.
As much as we hated the fact that the rave sucked, it would have been slightly different if the raining trio was present on that particular night. William! Hehehe that spot was meant for you! Hehehehehehe!
Music wise, not much of an appeal to me, though Desire really kicked start the mood as being told. She was playing Tiesto feat. Maxi Jazz’ Dance4Life when I got there and it was totally rocking! Benny… well, needless to say, was downright flat and boring. Not my cuppa tea and not forgetting to mention, the power supply cut off the moment he took over and was delayed for 15 freaking minutes! Hahahahaha, I couldn’t help but laugh… Evil.
And what’s rave to the Yappies without having family members as part of the attendees? Sis left early since she was falling asleep and I only managed to bump into my brother and friends towards the end of the night. Well, it’s all good!
Stage setting and visual lightings were quite impressive, I must say. With such a condensed spot, the organizer managed to pull off a pretty stunning display which sums up to a great atmosphere.
Bass Agents took over at about 1am and immediately played something I never would have imagine them so; Marco V’s Red Blue Purple as well as Marcel Woods’ Cherry Blossom. El Classico! Knowing BAXX, we expected something harder but they actually brought the tempo down so that Scot Project could bang all the way till the end, which he did.
Scot Project started off with Reflekt feat. Delline Bass’ Need to Feel Loved and then on with his trademark banging tunes. At this point, I was feeling very high due to overdosage of beer until Scot played Remo Con’s Cold Front (Bart Claessen Remix). We went absolute bonckus then and on until the end of the rave.
Long story short, I didn’t really get to enjoy the rave. The whole shortcoming of bars without drinks and lack of toilets really spoiled the night. Much thanks to the company I was with and Chin for sending me home upon special request cause I wasn’t feeling too good at the end of the night! Woot!
Recharge REVELATION5 next but I won’t be here then so UV Nation was my last rave here in Kuala Lumpur till further notice. Next gig: Sander Van Doorn @ Zouk KL! Hope it’s gonna be a blast.
Videos below but Youtube being a bitch doesn’t allow me or anyone to view any of the videos so I guess you’re gonna have to wait a while
Barely 24 hours after celebrating Joel’s 21st birthday at Maison (updates soon), we adjourned to Zouk for a whole different purpose this time around. Fono was to spin that night so a few of us decided to beat the hangover and drove down to KL to give Fono some trance lovin support! as well as pampering ourselves with some lovely deafening music. Attendance of the night? Chin, Krystal, Nat and myself.
Hahahaha.. The turnout wasn’t too bad, considering Bass Agents were spinning on the night itself and knowing how our local loves them so much. The night started off real slow though as the crowd only started filling the dancefloor late midnight. Terence C dished out some lovely tech proggie tunes before Fono took over at about 11:30am.
I can’t say much about Bass Agents set since we left moments after they took over. Right, we’re not entirely built for the hard style genre but Fono’s set was mind blowing! Chin and I had a hard time identifying tracks while Krystal just happily sang along to the progressive tunes by Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene’s Wouldn’t Change A Thing and so on…
Well, identifying tracks is something we are so accustomed to especially when it comes to trance. We were unfortunate to not have William or Jean together with us that night since they are our walking trance dictionaries. Chin got her Albert Vorne’s Formentera What (Gareth Emery remix) while I managed to listen to my current favourite Tiesto feat. Christian Burns’ In the Dark (Carl B Remix) and Nat with her Alex Morph and Rank 1’s Life Less Ordinary.
Right, so we didn’t exactly had an alcohol-free night as the midnight madness promotions were just far too tempting to be ignored. Hehehehe, so Chin and I ended up with a jug of beer each while Krystal and Nat had their jug of Long Island Tea, on the house!
Long Island Tea can be very dangerous… Beware, kids! I actually do have a much more explicit picture but I shall spare you guys appetite, though I’m sure you probably would have known what the picture is by now ;P
The only two decent videos I managed to capture with Nat’s camera, and that is Bass Agents doing their opening set. The following would be Fono and Life Less Ordinary. You can see Chin’s head as she was jumping ecstatically on the podium. Hehehehe! I have more videos but the loud cracking noise resulted in the videos deem unviewable. What a pity.

Wanted to take pictures of sunset but the weather being a bitch, rained instead.
Well, gloomy skies aren’t too bad afterall, I suppose? I like my pictures! :D
Will blog about it once I’m done with Malacca and XParty feat. Fono and Bass Agents.
Yup.. Very unlikely of me to post up an upcoming event so late. To be honest, I ain’t really looking forward to the party simply because it is Benny Benassi who is going to headline the rave. Like what? Satisfaction all night long? I doubt so. Well.. He’s just not my cuppa tea and that’s all I could say. Hopefully Scot Project would inject some adrenaline pumping and recognizable tracks instead!
As the actual date draws closer, we debated all week long to come up with a final decision on whether to go or not. Hehehehe and obviously as party animals ourselves, we succumbed to the lust for loud music and party mood for some cheap S-A-T-I-S-F-A-C-T-I-O-N.
Chin, Bryan and Cheryl received calls from EMI regarding their free tickets and I didn’t. Well, it didn’t really matter at first cause my brother had already bought my tickets then, until I came back home last night and received a very enlightening e-mail from none other than Guinness Anchor Berhad..
I don’t know what are the probabilities of having given the chance to win two free complimentary tickets from the beer I loved most. Hehehehehe, so now I have FOUR tickets and I guess I will be selling my initial tickets off to the young and desperate ones on that night itself. No extra charge, I assure you! :)
