Holidays Are Meant to Get Drunk!
21 December 2007After hearing much about it, I finally gotten the chance to witness the havoc myself. Seeming how deprived we are of partying, the usual troupe decided to head down Zouk for some Mambo madness, and boy was it crowded. Plus, the fact that prices of bottles were hiked up didn’t help either.
Partying on holiday eve is probably not the ideal plan especially when you know the whole of the Klang Valley residents will be down in KL for some intoxicated fun! That, however didn’t stop us from partying till the wee hours of next morning since we managed to get a decent spot in exchange of two bottles of Black Label.
We settled down pretty quickly and got the alcohols flowing in our bloodstreams without much hesitation. While the music of the night isn’t exactly part of our generation, but it surely was enjoyable as we did get to sing along few awfully familiar songs.
And I didn’t expect to bump into Elaine and Siu Pyn, my old schoolmates back in Sri Kuala Lumpur days either. Wouldn’t have known if they didn’t actually pop by and said hi instead! Funny how time flies, yet everyone still looks pretty much the same, or maybe not.. And there Hooi San was, with her usual truckload of party people as well. Someone got pretty HIGH on alcohol during the night, no? ;P
I didn’t really drink much but I suppose it was the company and music that made the night a whole lot more memorable. Hehehehehe funny to see how everyone already was into the festive mood! The attendance of the night!
Am now contemplating on whether to make it a second round on Christmas Eve, or should I not? Whoever is going, do leave me a message yah?
Have a great weekend, you party animals!

For The Newly Weds!
17 December 2007I suppose such glamorous event doesn’t need much elaboration because words wouldn’t be enough to express how everyone felt during the memorable night. The grand ballroom filled with emotions and love, putting a gleeful smile on every guest of the wedding dinner. Renaissance Hotel did well with the decorations and service was exceptionally reputable. And to everyone’s delight, dinner was served in an instant without much delay.
While I decided to bring my camera along this time around, I didn’t get to snap much for I was pretty occupied with the free flow of red wine and Hennessy, either of which goes really well with the food. Moreover, people from Lensa Malaysia were present as the official photographers for the night, thus making me feel slightly intimidated. Wedding photography is never easy, plus the dim lighting makes it even tougher for an amateur like me just to snap a decent picture.
It was also a rare sight with everyone dressed up so exquisitely, from the elderly ones to the younglings. And knowing how the maternal family goes with the presence of alcohol, we definitely live up to our reputable happening family title! There isn’t much to talk about the food as it’s synonymous with those you get in typical chinese dinner, though it tasted much better to say the least.
With such reliable and noteworthy services provided, all guests felt at comfort with the help of a live musical band that belted out a number of songs with familiarity being very much enjoyed by the uncles and aunties. The wedding dinner ended at about 10:30pm, giving us ample time to unwind and catch up with the long lost relatives before making a move back home, bringing priceless memories together with them.
And seeming how early 10:30pm was to the next generation of Choys, we decided to bring the partying mood into the wee hours of Sunday morning at Velvet! Fuish, packed to the brim as expected, but thankfully we had a couple of tables to ourselves with more drinks to savour!
Alcohol does bring people together, with me having met both new and old friends on such an eventful night. Jonathan from Axis, who mistaken me as Bryan… But then again, I kinda got used to it since I get it ALL THE TIME… Eish! We had a good talk albeit in a tiny room filled with thick smoke and scent of alcohol. And HAH HAH! Someone was in KL for the weekend, and unsurprisingly at Velvet.. Must go yum cha wei!! And find good tom yum back here in Malaysia ;P
I was fortunate to stay sober enough to drive around KL after some heavy drinking throughout the night which ended with a casualty. Especially with all the demonstrations and havoc going on lately in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, my brother and I decided to crash over at my sis who got a room all by herself at Renaissance.
Zouk (party) –> Wong Ah Wah (supper) –> Renaissance (drop off) –> Wong Ah Wah (pickup) –> Renaissance (KO!)
And so that was the day to remember.. I’d rather forget the day AFTER as we suffered from minor hangover while having to endure the traffic back home, but hey I’m not complaining!
Good night good night.. Congratulations to my cousin once again! Perhaps I should start wondering how my wedding would look like in a decades’ time as well. Hehehehehehe!
Rescucitated!
15 December 2007Boo ha! April’s Fool came too soon, no? Before everyone starts panicking (though I doubt anybody would), the sudden ‘downtime’ occurred due to the fact that I overlooked the important notice of my domain renewal, hence letting it expired before I realized that I hadn’t done so. My bad!
Hehehehehe now that’s business is back to usual, it’s time to party!!! Updates on my happening weekend and Godskitchen and Pharmacy White and … upcoming parties.. The list never ends!
Now I’m back to watching Naruto…. Byes!
Shagged @ Live&Loud 2007!
8 December 2007When news came about Whitney performing at one of the many Live & Loud 07 gigs here in KL, I for one actually got pretty excited, knowing chances of seeing a DIVA perform only comes every once in a blue moon. Tickets were selling like hot cakes as the anticipation grew into immeasurable degree. Together with Whitney, came Shaggy and his troopers, alongside our very own malaysian talents who mesmerized the 10,000 throng despite the earlier downpour during the day.
Then of course, last Saturday night wouldn’t have been much fun without Ada who generously offered Nat and I FOUR tickets to catch the superstars on stage at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Park! Therefore, I hereby thank you with love on the behalf of Nat and my sister (who snapped the other two since Eugene and Vincent passed up on the event).
Unfortunately, we only settled for the remaining hours of the night due to earlier complications in itinerary planning. Spent the whole of the day at Pavilion again but feeling glad having left the place WITHOUT splurging on the very much irresistible Pull and Bear apparels. OMG! The stuff over there makes me wanna squeal like a rat cause they’re all so pretty!
Okay, I shall keep my feminine side for some other time. So I went home for dinner with my homeys before leaving the house at 8pm to avoid the usual horrendous jam on NKVE. Hahahahaha it didn’t matter cause we got stranded in the jam OUTSIDE Bukit Equestrian Park instead as people came pouring in relentlessly, to the extent where I have to park my car at INTAN. Nasty, I tell joo!
Thank goodness for the earlier downpour, which seemingly made our stroll to the Bukit Equestrian Park less agitated by the humid weather. Rows of car double parking by the side spanned along the whole stretch of the road which leads you to Desa Sri Hartamas.
And since it was my first ever visit to the Equestrian Park, I must say that it probably was one of the best places to put everyone together for such events, albeit the limited parking spaces. Just like what Hooi San told me, “damn perfect to have raves over here!” Hahahahhaa, indeed!
The stage was HUGE! The set-up and layout are both well-planned, thus making navigation around the place much easier. The stage somehow reminded me of some raves with those huge Mach speakers and Bag End subwoofers! Lightings were magnificently beautiful, though the live feed from the BIG-ASS plasma on the background could have been better.. It’s malfunctioning!
And much to our delightful surprise, two of the tickets given to us by Ada are the gold/bronze ones which put us directly in front of the stage for the perfect viewing of just about everything! Just by standing at the very end of the area, I could still see the wrinkly belly of Whitney Houston and Shaggy’s shimmering blings clearly! Didn’t take us long enough to get to the designated area, thanks to the responsive marshals who help out in traffic control and information guide.
And guess what? Little did we know that those two pieces of 170gsm coated papers are worth a staggering RM500 each! Our jaws were left dangling in midair when we found out that there even were the RM1500 platinum tickets. Shit, and I saw Aiman sitting right there with his dearie, munching on fruits. Hahahahaha! Lovely.
So we settled down on a spot and chilled, as our very own malaysian talents started belting out a few awfully familiar songs, especially from the likes of Jaclyn Victor, Noryn Aziz and…. truth be told, I don’t really know any of them who were on stage. I felt so lost, yet enjoying the melodic tunes at the same time.
I really didn’t expect much from the night, considering the fact that I’m not much of a fan of ANY of the performing artistes, till Shaggy came on the stage and literally blew the roof off with his vibrating hips and very good showmanship! He rocked the house, LITERALLY! His sense of humor goes well with his performance, injecting life into the deflated crowd after a long day!
While his performance barely lasted for a measly one hour, I guess everyone was pretty much contented with Shaggy’s performance before Whitney stole the limelight after having to wait for 30 minutes. And to most of everyone’s disappointment, Whitney’s performance didnt live up to expectations. I am in no position to criticize her in the first place, though I must say that she did deserved more than the reception given throughout the whole night. Would be interested to see how well her upcoming album does when it actually releases next year.
Sorry but no pictures cause the strobing flashes would have caused poor Whitney nauseous and fall off the stage. Hahahaha, then again, I feel happy at the end of the night just by looking at tearful of joy expressions from the elderly ones who braced the extreme conditions and lost hours of sleep just to see their favourite diva on stage. I had a great night, even more so together with Nat, as we stayed on and caught Whitney struggling to sing I’ll Always Love You.
Can never thank you enough for the tickets, Ada! Must belanja you makan real soon! And thanks for the tour around TOC on Tuesday afternoon as well. Hahahaha. One last video for you, sexy lady!!
Bye people and have a nice weekend!
Kaboink!
