Lalalala Long Long Le Long Long Long!
8 May 2008

It’s been a crucial week for everyone in Communication Design faculty, and I’m just glad to know that yet another weekend beckons. From Monday itself, we had a really long day just setting up the Information Design posters for exhibition and stayed back till 7.30pm. Quite a feat especially coming from me ;P

Then of course, we were well treated to a round of drinks and snacks, having a good chat with my other peers as well as making new friends with some others. Guess none of us really expected that, especially with all those on the house! Hehehehehe and being the typical Malaysian I have always been, I shamelessly had three drinks and two handfuls of chips.

And for the moment, everyone just felt at ease and seemed as though semester was coming to an end. Oh yes, it surely did felt like it until… Reality struck hard upon us. Jo walked into the exhibition space as a form of reminder to us that there was the mock-up of book as object due today!

Pfft.. There you have it. My Thursday have never been better, knowing that we’re almost half way past towards the finishing line. Presentation for Carlo’s earlier today went on pretty well. It’s been a long while since I last presented in front of the class. Quite a bit of a nerve-wrecking moment but it’s all good!
Can’t wait for the weekend. Gosh, I need a full body massage! Recommendations in Victoria, anyone? Nevermind the title of the post, by the way. Just so happen it got stuck in my head after listening to the song during lunch at Melbourne Central food court. Some reggae lovin’ for you!
7 hours of quality trance by 7 top class DJs in one single set. What else could you ask for? I don’t usually download the State of Trance live shows but episode 350 is just too good to resist. I’m listening to the third hour by John O’ Callaghan and it has been a really fantastic one thus far. Makes me wanna contemplate on whether to go for Poison Apple now cause M.I.K.E’s set was simply awesome! He was inspirational during his set @ Godskitchen 07′.
DECISIONS!!!Cause You Know..
6 May 2008As much as I would love to update you guys on the Fantasy @ VII event, I prefer to put those pictures on hold and upload these way overdue ones before they start rotting on my desktop. Hehehehe and YES, my degree is way on course. I complete my assignments on time as well, so there you have it! Contrary to many beliefs, I DO study!
I mean, come on! What else can you do on weekends here in Melbourne besides having a couple of drinks while catching up with other friends of yours at the same time? I’m just truly thankful for my Sexy and Goatsis for the freelists. I haven’t had to pay a single cent for admission so that goes straight to my “Weekly Intoxicated Night Funds”. Cheers!
11 APRIL 08 : FOREVER FRIDAYS @ EVE
Contreaus, Bacardi 151s, Chambords and awesome company. Eve was packed during the night so we pretty much stayed put at one location while watching other people tumbling over the dancefloor. Definitely had better night outs with the rest, but couldn’t be bothered anymore. As always, much thanks to my beloved goatsis for the freelist! I shall let the pictures do the talking :)
That’s the price of 1 Bacardi 151 shot. Yumsssss :)

18 APRIL 08: FOREVER FRIDAYS @ EVE
Vicky was down from Newcastle for holiday as well! And since we don’t get many visitors from the land of the unknown (besides William), we decided to celebrate the joyous occasion by heading to Eve… yet again! And what a night to remember, cause I had 5 shots of Bacardi 151 (three with Red Bull) and was walking around half-blinded cause my right contact lens came off! Pfft…
Vicky, Garang Penny and Nattie.
William, Matthew and Nattie.

REPORT: Tiesto In Concert @ Festival Hall, Melbourne
4 May 2008What can I say? I hate to admit the fact that I’m actually glad having made an impulse purchase of Tiesto’s ticket just to catch him LIVE after all. The name of Tiesto rings a bell in almost, if not all, of everyone’s head. And I probably would have regretted even more so, should I had decided not to go. Then again, it’s Tiesto. Who doesn’t know him? The name itself has seamlessly become a household brand, where VCD peddlers you find at pasar malams know who Tiesto is as well.
I just thought his set on Sunday’s show turned out much better than the first one, and I truly am thankful for that. There have been much complaints regarding the inconsistency of Tiesto’s set as he struggled in rhythm pace and momentum of the vibe. Sunday’s one seemed a whole lot better, as I pretty much enjoyed most of the night.
We arrived at 6.15pm, just about time when the dancefloor started to get warmed up with Grant Smilie dishing out some lovely tunes which are rather unfamiliar to me. He also played Morgan Page feat. Lissie – The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix) and that really got the crowd thirsting for more!
From what I think, the tickets that we actually purchased from Moshtix itself are initially meant for privilege guests. However, due to the massive demand for tickets as well as curbing scalpers who sell additional tickets on eBay at cut-throat prices, the organizer decided to release these industry tickets to the public, and so we got em’!
And how different it is from the rest, I hear you ask. Basically, we were allowed to go up to the balcony area which has got a fantastic aerial view of the whole dancefloor, and smacked right in the middle. The only problem would be the allocation of chairs which made it really hard for us to move and dance around.
Didn’t take long before we made our move to the dancefloor, and boy did it felt so.. natural! It was Trent Mcdermott’s warm-up set when everyone started getting a little impatient and some had a bit too much to drink even before Tiesto showed up. How typical!
Everyone was looking at their watches, signaling the mark of 8pm when the music abruptly faded out to the echoes of the screaming patrons. The lights went out and before we even knew it, everyone was already on adrenaline rush. Cameras flashing and the deafening cheers of Tiesto’s name. That very moment was such an emphatic atmosphere. Absolute madness!
As I would have expected after watching his Elements of Life DVD, the introduction is no different and Tiesto did his “out-of-nowhere” trademark appearance with fireworks. The first hour did seemed a little shaky but Tiesto made it up to that beyond the two hour mark as he literally dropped the cluster bomb on the crowd with sick tunes!!
I actually thought that Festival Hall wasn’t so bad after all, despite having read much negative reviews about the venue itself. The music was flawless, with little echo and no distortions noticed. Then again, we were smack right in the middle of the dancefloor, and we just got lifted from the ground then onwards. Visuals likewise, could have been better I suppose. But nonetheless, still subliminal!
Tiesto didn’t exactly play for 4 hours but that probably would have made everyone’s day anyway. His closing set was just out of this world, probably just as grand as his opening. All in all, I had a really good time at Tiesto In Concert: Elements of Life and it surely was an experience to see Tiesto in person!
And below are videos as well as the tracklist for the Sunday night show. Simply awesome! William tai kor, I tried my very best in ID-ing his set so here you go!!
