No I Can’t Feel Nothing..
20 September 2008Truth be told, things haven’t been much of a smooth ride for me. Too many things happening simultaneously in just a glance or two. How I missed those times when you run straight into the room after school just to sit back and start flipping through pages of your Doraemon comic books. Then again, I suppose it is only wrong to be expecting the same lifestyle a decade after having graduated from elementary school.
So my birthday has come and gone. Didn’t really do much anyway. Besides, my 22nd birthday fell on a weekday so decided to keep the celebrations subtle(phew!) by having simple dinner at Chin’s! Beloved Nat cooked Bak Kut Teh and baked cupcakes for me as well! Not much drinking involved this year around, though a couple of beers did its job reasonably well :)
I know it’s been more than weeks since my birthday, but I just thought I should personally thank everyone who wished me on MSN, Facebook, SMSes and in person! I need not a 10,000 dollar party, or even a Porsche for my birthdays. Afterall, just a simple wish and that totaling up to a truckload is more than enough to put a smile on my face at the end of the day.

18 September 2008Housekeeping! Hehehehe, though I’d blog about Valerie’s birthday at Chi Bar before I forget about it and then somehow eventually left to join the rest in the abandoned vault of forgotten memories! The special occasion was held quite some time ago so I don’t really remember much, except that I was really sick so I didn’t get to indulge myself in those free-flowing of champagne and wine!
Getting there wasn’t much of a hassle as it was ‘still’ pretty warm during the night, though I had difficulty trying to dress myself up go with the theme. And the night itself made me realize how desperately I need to work on my wardrobe. NEED MORE CLOTHES! And so I did… at Chadstone last night, but that will come another day as I gotta get on with the topic of the day!

While I don’t mean to emphasize on the fact that I didn’t consume any alcohol during the night, I actually had fun just seeing how everyone’s so completely dressed up! Kudos to both the french maids and butlers who turned up! And looking back at the pictures, I think I probably came off being the worst butler who didn’t really put much effort. :\

And it came as no surprise with Chi who sneakily brought the cake out when the clock struck twelve, bringing everyone together in singing out loudly for the birthday girl! Hehehehe, and the cake was good I couldn’t help but to munch on a couple more. ON NOM NOM!

I left not long after cause I was dying to get home as the fever started kicking in, yet again. I just thought I could have enjoyed so much more if it wasn’t because of that! Grrr.. anyway, thanks again Valerie for inviting to such a great party! Hope you had a blast through the week of your birthday!
Time for dinner. Byes byes..

16 September 2008FOR SALE: I have got ONE Godskitchen ticket for the Melbourne show up for grab at industry cost price! Trust me, you wouldn’t be able to get any other for 85AUD, not especially when the event is sold out for the SECOND time even after having released an additional batch of tickets for the late birdies. The owner of this ticket couldn’t make it due to clashing of schedule so, yeah. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS!
And now to start off with the ramblings of the day! Hehehehe, phew! I have got so much to blog about I don’t even know where to start from. Gah! Another case of Déjà vu, I hear you asking? No thanks to my unprecedented level of procrastination, of course!
Basically, the past weekends were made up of some healthy overdose of trance and free-flowing of alcohol on various outings. Infinity for one, got us real hyped up just thinking about the weekend but it is now closed indefinitely due to unforeseen circumstances. You know how people always say that good things eventually come to an end? Too soon :(
Tydi, the newly crowned No.1 Australian DJ made his debut on the same night as Merdeka Eve, which I found myself loitering around at Exchange Hotel with a couple of friends. The crowd was filling the club slowly but steadily as I did some catching ups with old classmates, Chiew Keng and Isabel.
And because I have myself to blame for having a *bit* too much to drink the night before, I decided to stay sober instead as I was still pretty much hungover. Eveline and Daniel were both working that night, so was Nat in the cloak room. The night didn’t seem too bad though my mind was already lingering around the corners of Queensbridge Hotel for something more uplifting.
It was great seeing so many people there, some of whom I hadn’t seen in a long while! Koi Lin, Pei Huan, Ben, Calvin, Jaclyn and Mellissa, just to name a few. And it didn’t take long before I made my way to Queensbridge Hotel, passing by the row of strip clubs which I find rather amusing. Guess we shall wait for the particular fucker who is set to touch down on the 25th September and see how things go!
The party started way before I arrived, though I made it just in time for Tydi! He certainly brought the crowd together as the dancefloor was still pretty much unoccupied when Mike Nichol did the warm-up set. The good thing about here in Melbourne is that warm-up sets don’t sound like one. DJs go all the way and bang to their satisfaction, thus providing us some really good climax *ahem*.. And you know what’s better? HAVING TWO(OR THREE) ROUNDS OF CLIMAX IN ONE NIGHT!
I’m not too sure how I would want to describe Tydi though. His showmanship definitely got the crowd rocking on the dance floor, demonstrating much energy and enthusiasm in what he is doing. I could have given him three thumbs up but I only have two. Hahaha! As for the opening of his set, what a first song to start of with! Massive! Here are some of the songs we managed to ID.
1. Lange- Out Of The Sky (Myon and Shane 54 Black Army Remix)
2. Sander van Doorn- Apple
3. Delerium feat. Sarah Mclachlan- Silence (Above & Beyond 21st Century Remix)
4. Sander van Doorn- Riff
5. Markus Schulz feat. Departure- Cause You Know (Nic Chagall Remix)
6. Mr.Pit- Shana (Dudersdadt Progressive Dub Mix)
7. Maor Levi- Shapes
8. John O’ Callaghan feat. Audrey Gallagher- Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Remix)
9. Tiesto- Traffic (Original Mix)
10. The Killers- Mr. Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)
11. Martin Roth and Alex Bartlett- Off The World (Gareth Emery Remix)
12. Tiesto- Adagio For Strings
13. Nic Chagall- What You Need (Marco V Remix)
Tydi’s credibility probably must have shot up by a big notch after proving himself to be the worthy No.1 Australian DJ right in front of a strong thousand Melbourne crowd! And probably made more fans than he would have expected!
Phew.. Quite a long winded post for a Tuesday. I’m gonna be off now!
Toodles!
One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilsners!
14 September 2008Just because there wasn’t much to do over the past holiday, it didn’t mean we hadn’t been able to let loose either. And Sidney’s visit to the land Down Under made it all the more interesting! While she was only here for a couple of days due to hectic schedule as a stewardess, we still managed to catch up and had a… well, few drinks!
Sidney’s crave for some ice cold beer never would have come at better timing, especially since we are at Chapel Street. And today’s DID YOU KNOW? is that a pot of Carlton draught costs you a measly 2.50AUD at TGI Fridays during their happy hour-everyday!
We couldn’t stay long because Sidney had to leave as her flight was in the wee hours of next morning. Then of course, all was not lost as she made a return from New Zealand on Friday night and we wasted no time in meeting up for another round of beer overdose… at Cho Gao!
Now that we hardly dress up on Friday nights and venture to the clubs,Cho Gao has become a prominent spot of chilling out with a few beers and friends instead. That place can be really crowded at times but I suppose it is still bearable. The only shit part about Cho Gao is the fact that they close early! Damn potong stim, I tell you.
Then of course, that didn’t stop us from making our way to the next stop; Manchuria! I’m actually liking that place even though we hardly frequent that far just for a drink or two. Great ambient to go with the red oriental finish decorations.
One should really stop by Manchuria if you are looking for a great variety of cocktails. Something for a change rather than those you usually find at clubs and bars. The menu itself is something to admire about as each cocktail comes with its very own background story.
Glasses were refilled just as rapidly as them being emptied. It was getting late and the crowd was slowly diminishing, probably due to the excessive noise generated from our group. The night ended on a high note though, someone with a sore toe and few tumbling over the steps but the late supper at China Bar did it for us. SENGGGGGGGG!
We should do this often, and definitely more when Sidney pays us yet another visit some time soon! Till then, dinner calls and I shall have to make a move now. Hope the weekend’s been a great one for you people, cause mine is!
Goodbye, people!
Last Remaining Light
11 September 2008Holiday. Not that I’ve done much anyway but it certainly was a great one with couple of surprises and ample time to unwind (WHICH I wasn’t supposed to!). But oh well, you know how universities regard our ‘mid-semester break’ as the non-contact week which you’re expected to stay home and deal with the immense amount of workload. I treated my ‘mid-semester break’ as one, nonetheless.
Hohohoho! But I personally felt the ‘break’ benefited me after what seems to be a hectic two months. I feel much relaxed and personally gave me a boost in working on the assignment due TODAY! Woohoo, some breathing space at last! The works presented today are just so amazing, though I have never been happier with my own! Hard work does pay off! As much as I would love to show you the work of others, I rather not due to copyright issues.
This brief clearly shows the reason why it is essential in doing what you aspire and LOVE, even though such options surfaces every once in a blue moon. So, if you actually do get one, SEIZE the opportunity! I really enjoyed working on this project, and I am particularly obsessed with Tadao Ando’s work now!
The final hurdle beckons and right before you know it, I’m to attend my very own graduation! Am just hoping that my family would come celebrate the joyous occasion with me. They better be! With all these in mind, I scare myself at times, thinking how long of a journey we have come.
ANYWAYS.. Myer was on fire just the day before yesterday! Well, if you hadn’t know, that is. And so we thought it was going to be yet another ordinary Tuesday, least expecting a smoky afternoon when we noticed a drastic increase in population on the streets. Tram services were disrupted as SIXTEEN firetrucks surrounded the perimeters of Myer on Bourke-Swanston St.
Seeming how iconic of a figure Myer and its buildings are, I guess the rescue department threw everything they’ve got to save the premise. Not knowing how serious the incident was, we decided to just stay away from the zone as it began to swell in crowd and later caught the news on TV instead.
Hehehehe and how we were making jokes by comparing the Fire Brigade here and the ones we find back in Malaysia. The people here are way too efficient to let Myer from ending up in billows of smoke and ashes, whereas the ones back home would probably make it just in time to clean the mess and still charge the owner for their ‘service’.
It’s Thursday, thus marking the end of yet another eventful week for me! Not much time to relax considering we are only weeks away from making it to the finish line for this semester. House party soon before the next holiday, perhaps?
Will blog again soon! Till then, take care and have a great weekend, people!
P.S: Bryan, what on earth are you doing in the Lowyat ‘Be my date(v6), hang out and look for dates here‘ thread? You are attracting unnecessary attention here, my TWIN BROTHER! HahAhaHahahAH!
When You Change Your Mind..
4 September 2008I have always wanted to see Kylie Minogue perform LIVE, not just simply because of how much of a gorgeous lady she is. Well I mean, BOTOX really does its job but I guess Kylie’s live performances are something one shouldn’t pass up on without consideration. Her showmanship and the scale of production are just simply amazing!
And so it was just another day with confused weather when I came across this…

You have no idea how I excited I am right now! I anxiously waited for today and… and.. Gah! I can’t believe I just missed out on the pre-sale tickets! The fact that I woke up late didn’t help either and I only remembered by the time I got home from Chin’s place earlier today.
I was looking at the venue seating and I assume that it is almost going to be a sell-out concert, judging by the seats I was allocated to. After having second thought, I decided to check out the gold tickets and poof! Ticketek rejected my request, stating that “the event may be sold out or the number of tickets requested are greater than the maximum available adjacent seats.”
WHY LA WHY! I’m just gonna console myself and feel thankful that these are only pre-sale and general public on sale next Monday. The horror of having to wake up earlier than I should be to fight with thousands of others in landing ourselves with the golden tickets to see Kylie strut her bootylicious moves! Oh wait, it’s worth the ordeal! Oh hell yeah!
KYLIE HERE I COME! LA LA LA.. I JUST CAN’T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD~!
Oh and another thing.. Updated line-ups for Global Gathering, Australia! Tydi would be a good addition after seeing him performed in Infinity just last Saturday. Now that makes it two awesome weekends with a healthy balance of RnB’ and trance music! He deserves to be the Australian No.1 DJ!

Wake me up, when September ends…
