Last Remaining Light

11 September 2008

Holiday. Not that I’ve done much anyway but it certainly was a great one with couple of surprises and ample time to unwind (WHICH I wasn’t supposed to!). But oh well, you know how universities regard our ‘mid-semester break’ as the non-contact week which you’re expected to stay home and deal with the immense amount of workload. I treated my ‘mid-semester break’ as one, nonetheless.

Hohohoho! But I personally felt the ‘break’ benefited me after what seems to be a hectic two months. I feel much relaxed and personally gave me a boost in working on the assignment due TODAY! Woohoo, some breathing space at last! The works presented today are just so amazing, though I have never been happier with my own! Hard work does pay off! As much as I would love to show you the work of others, I rather not due to copyright issues.

This brief clearly shows the reason why it is essential in doing what you aspire and LOVE, even though such options surfaces every once in a blue moon. So, if you actually do get one, SEIZE the opportunity! I really enjoyed working on this project, and I am particularly obsessed with Tadao Ando’s work now!

The final hurdle beckons and right before you know it, I’m to attend my very own graduation! Am just hoping that my family would come celebrate the joyous occasion with me. They better be! With all these in mind, I scare myself at times, thinking how long of a journey we have come.

ANYWAYS.. Myer was on fire just the day before yesterday! Well, if you hadn’t know, that is. And so we thought it was going to be yet another ordinary Tuesday, least expecting a smoky afternoon when we noticed a drastic increase in population on the streets. Tram services were disrupted as SIXTEEN firetrucks surrounded the perimeters of Myer on Bourke-Swanston St.

Seeming how iconic of a figure Myer and its buildings are, I guess the rescue department threw everything they’ve got to save the premise. Not knowing how serious the incident was, we decided to just stay away from the zone as it began to swell in crowd and later caught the news on TV instead.

Hehehehe and how we were making jokes by comparing the Fire Brigade here and the ones we find back in Malaysia. The people here are way too efficient to let Myer from ending up in billows of smoke and ashes, whereas the ones back home would probably make it just in time to clean the mess and still charge the owner for their ‘service’.

It’s Thursday, thus marking the end of yet another eventful week for me! Not much time to relax considering we are only weeks away from making it to the finish line for this semester. House party soon before the next holiday, perhaps?

Will blog again soon! Till then, take care and have a great weekend, people!

P.S: Bryan, what on earth are you doing in the Lowyat ‘Be my date(v6), hang out and look for dates here‘ thread? You are attracting unnecessary attention here, my TWIN BROTHER! HahAhaHahahAH!
