Future Music Festival 2011

20 October 2010

Future Entertainment has finally released the line-ups for their much anticipated annual Future Music Festival! Personally, I think the line-ups pretty good but I’ve seen the likes of Chemical Brothers, Sander van Doorn, Steve Aoki and Sven Vath. Not that I’d actually give it a pass had I not decided to go for Stereosonic and Armin Only, but these events can really lay a heavy blow on your financial status.

But then again, Future Music Festival 2011 is 5 months from now so who knows? The only one that has eluded me so far is Cosmic Gate, which I would definitely go for should they be headlining the after party event. I reckon Mark Ronson, MGMT and Steve Angello would be great to witness too, and not forgetting Richie Hawtin whose music my brother fancied listening to back then for he was a REAL techno fan.

Future Music Festival will be touring Australia as always from 5th March 2011 onwards, with Brisbane being the first stop of the music carnival, followed by Perth on the 6th. Melbourne will have its fair share of fun on the 13th March, which also happens to be the Labour Day long weekend. Sweet.

Be there or not, all that I’m asking for is NOT a bloody repeat of the horrendous weather that wrecked havoc across Melbourne earlier this year. And well, maybe not Ke$ha either cause she’d be thrashing the stage with her BLAH BLAH BLAH nonsense.

Take Over Control

11 October 2010

ZOMG! Party celebrated its first birthday on the 24th September, 2010 in style with Blink right on the decks immediately after having endured a grueling 8 hour flight from Kuala Lumpur. Good to see a decent amount of familiar faces during the night as it totally felt just like back home (minus the sweat and smoke).

You know it’s never a dull night especially when spent with friends and also after a few (or more) drinks. We practically stayed on the dancefloor, screaming our lungs out and that’s as far as I can remember throughout the whole night. Also, a very big welcome to Australia to Jacinta of LEFTBLOCK!

The night was far too epic for me to handle. Had the worst Saturday ever in a long while and been laying off alcohol since. Right, so I did break the spell by having a couple of Vodka and beer over the past three weeks but that’s probably less than what I would usually consume on a regular Friday night itself. Pretty good achievement, I’d say.

My lovely Sunday has now come to an end, and so it’s back to work again… Monday f**kin’ blues, ay!

10 October 2010

picyxj2lefmnmjc

In case you haven’t figure it out just yet, the line-ups for ZoukOut 2010 is now officially released. This year’s installment boasts some of the biggest names in conjunction with the 10th anniversary since ZoukOut was first introduced. Dutch powerhouse Tiesto will be headlining the event alongside French compatriot, David Guetta who’s had a very successful career over the past years with massive collaborations between artistes.

Others who are in the same bandwagon include Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Dubfire, Booka Shade, Jazzy Jeff and Dubfire, just to name a few. The event will be held on the 11th December 2010 at Sentosa Siloso Beach, loosely dubbed as the home of one’s highly anticipated event of the year.

As much as I would love to go for this year’s ZoukOut, I’d be spending my summer here in Melbourne instead. My last visit was back in 2006 and never got the chance to do a hat-trick since. However, we do have Stereosonic to look forward to and it’s going to be twice as massive! Just going to have to earn some cash prior to Christmas and all’d be good. Yes I know, it will be.

Walking On A Dream

26 November 2009

I think we might have just found the perfect alternative to our occasional drinking session at Backpackers. After what seemed to be a rather chaotic last night out at the good ol’ pub, we now look forward to the next karaoke session with another 3 bottles of Black Label and hopefully more hours of singing (or screaming).

Last night at Chi karaoke proved to be nonetheless, a rowdy one as 13 of us somehow managed to squeeze into a rather tiny room. 3 bottles of BL for the price of 2 made the night even more memorable as we were trying out on their new karaoke system with up-to-date extensive list of songs to choose from.

Am utterly surprised how we got out of the place, not feeling even a tiny bit of intoxication. The adrenaline rush from belting out dodgy, cheesy and the ever infamous songs in the 90s as well as the heat! Things got a little bit stuffy in the room as everyone was puncturing their lungs like there’s no tomorrow!

Hmm.. Am gonna miss times like these, though I’m looking forward to heading back home for now. SEXPO tomorrow and Alex birthday cum Richmond’s farewell at VII as well.

Have a great night, peeps!

Birdman…. What?

21 November 2009

Yet another casual day out with the usual ones as Michelle brought us to Birdman Eating in Fitzroy for lunch. The lamb is to die for, along with the fried calamari but we didn’t get to try the rabbit meat Michelle was raving about though. Perhaps another round before I head back to KL?

It actually was quite a scorching hot day and we were seated outside for quite some time with my back baring to the high UV indexed sunlight. Thankfully a couple got off just in time for us to move in and needed an ice cold beer to keep the temperature at bay.

I actually find the snapper fish pretty intriguing, as it reminded me very much of ikan bakar back home, though nothing beats the original ones. And for the measly price that we had to pay for such a sumptuous lunch, I highly recommend to just about anybody about Birdman!

1 2 Whoop Whoop!

13 November 2009

Just when I thought of calling it a day after the PMS fashion show at VII, we headed to Charlie’s Bar at Hardware Lane for Ada’s birthday celebration instead. Quite a nice place to chill with pretty cheap prices for drinks as well. Their Hoegaardens are to die for, especially since it’s fresh from tap! A few of us probably ended up emptying half the barrel of it in less than an hour.

When I thought of calling it a day, I really meant it as my body felt like it was gonna break down anytime. The two big glasses of Hoegaardens didn’t exactly do the trick either and I was that close to giving Steve Aoki a miss who spun at Roxanne Parlour on the very same night!

We got there just a little over midnight, and the place was already packed to the brim. Though I really like the place for some reasons, but the crowd just didn’t cut it as they were rowdy to the core. The girls had a rough time dealing with all the intoxicated douchebags who came forcing their way through just to get to the front.

The problem didn’t stop there as an apparent fight broke out, and everyone was relocated to the back room. Took us quite some time to settle down at a decent spot and the ventilation was plain horrendous. Steve Aoki however, living up to everyone’s expectations and dropping crazy tunes after another. The whole place was just simply out of control!

What a enjoyable sweat fest it was, and he brought me back from the dead as I was tired as hell. Couldn’t be bothered taking any pictures, though I just had to snap one of him at least. It was really hard to snap a decent one with those people shoving others around. Ivan and I were both hoping that Devon Aoki was part of the tour… Sigh!

Happy Friday, the 13th people!

About DAMN Time!

11 November 2009

Wow. I don’t even know where to start. I procrastinated, and that’s a fact. I haven’t been bothered with this blog of mine since the end of my semester because it has been a real tiring one. The past couple of months truly were tormenting with the crazy workload I found myself buried in. And because I’m so rusty with this whole blogging thing, it’s gonna take some time getting used to once again.

Much had happened in just such a short duration of time, as I’m still trying to digest the fact that 2009 is coming to an end already. Not exactly the best year, though I’ve done quite a bit for myself and probably good additions to my portfolio as well.

Will save the grandfather story for some other time, as here are the pictures taken during the exclusive PMS Fashion show held at VII on the 23rd of October, 2009. Once again, am really honoured and happy to be part of the Projectmuffstit family, though my contribution is little to none compared to what the rest of the guys have done. A good motivation, perhaps?

Once again, a heartfelt congratulations to Michelle and Sheryl of PMS for putting such an awesome show! Such inspirations, you girls are. Not forgetting DJ Ash of ZOMG! Parties held on every Friday at VII sideroom.

Merdeka Eve @ CQ, Melbourne

11 September 2009

And so that’s how we celebrated Independence Day 3000 miles away from homeland. Ironic as it may sound, no? We didn’t have to light a candle only to get arrested for the sake of PEACE. We didn’t have to endure some crappy 1Malaysia slogan and song which PM put so much hope in uniting the nation. And yes, we’re getting Black Eyed Peas here as well, and everyone’s INVITED!

Four bottles, great company, LAPSAP, ZOMG! and emphatic atmosphere! NOW you know why that weekend got us all hyped up for the past month and still feeling the adrenaline rush two week after.

OH NO! I don’t have a picture with Kenny Sia…. Like I give two shit! Dont mean to offend but I think he’s rather off blogging than talking on the mic. And two consecutive countdowns for what? That of course, doesn’t stop me from being one his loyal readers, though I must admit the quality has deteriorated over the years as compared to when he first started.

So, how did you celebrate Malaysia’s 52nd Independence Day? :)
