ENJOY!

6 September 2009

This was the one Friday night with rumor circulating about LAPSAP spinning at VII when we all knew that it wasn’t so much of a rumor after all. I have to admit the weekend took its toll on me as my entire week was spent on recuperating because it was simply MENTAL! Probably by far the best weekend ever in 2009.

The last time we actually went to VII was two months ago, when Matthew came all the way from Sydney just to celebrate his birthday. The night was good, though it could have been fantastic if it wasn’t because of some stuck-up cunt fuck who threatened to ruin our night. I can’t say I would have made a big difference if I was around but at least something could have been done to get the asswipe out of our sight.

While it took quite a while to ease the tension, I was glad the party mood got back on momentum upon restoring peace. And the next thing you know, the girls were all high on alcohol and invaded the dancefloor while we watched on. Couple of beers and bottles of champagne did the job perfectly well during the night as the guys helplessly witnessed them stumbling over podiums and taking pictures like there’s no tomorrow.

LAPSAP started spinning from 2am onwards and everyone just went insane, literally! It was then that the crowd knew what was to come when LAPSAP set the dancefloor on fire during Merdeka Eve @ CQ. Definitely the perfect opportunity to kick start the festive weekend especially since we missed out on the inaugural “Celebrating the Trendsetters” Party the weekend before.

And it’s just funny how some of us were complaining about fatigue until LAPSAP came on the decks and we were on adrenaline rush the next moment. The girls were hopping from one podium to the other, during which we then realized that an hour and half set for LAPSAP proved to be too short!

We ended up leaving the club at about 4:00am for home and slept minutes just after witnessing sunrise… Or maybe not, but the sky was getting brighter already back then! And futsal next day proved to be quite fruitful as I played an important role in the team for once! Can’t say the same for this week though :(

Ultimate stoner face… FCUK, there goes yet another weekend! Another 19 days till the goatbrother from Malaysia come party with us ala MELBOURNE style!! I also think I need to catch up on my blogging routine although there are just too many work to be dealt with!

That’s all for today…. Merdeka Eve @ CQ next!

Negaraku..

3 August 2009

There is no better reason to be celebrating Malaysia’s 52nd Independence Day than partying your night away with fellow Xu and Blink of LAPSAP here in Melbourne! After that one unforgettable night at Palate Palette during LAPSAP’s 2nd Private Anniversary Party, you know you just can’t afford to miss this one!

Making an appearance together with LAPSAP are Kenny Sia and Kim Ong, happening on the 30th August 2009 at CQ Bar, Melbourne. Not sure if the early birds are already on sale but make sure you get them as soon as possible cause it’s gonna be one helluva mental night!

You’re Half A World Away..

21 July 2009

Upon knowing that Uncle Fono was spinning at Zouk two weeks ago, trance fans surely knew they’d definitely be up for one helluva unforgettable night. Having no choice but to pass up on every other Fired Up Friday nights, I must say I got pretty lucky with the dates as my return coincided with Gareth and Uncle’s sets! Just as expected, the whole troupe came to support the pioneer and local veteran trance DJ as he played some of the most beautiful tunes that left us begging for more.

And it certainly prove to be more than just a few surprises as Chin attended the night without Uncle Fono knowing she’s back. Hehehehe the reunion sparked celebrations into life as bottles of Black Label occupied our tables and the crowd was just amazing as my sister and her friends decided to join us for the night as well! Not forgetting to mention JayJay who came all the way down from Penang! It was great bumping into old friends despite being a little too noisy to do some catching up.

It definitely was a sight with main room almost packed like a special event night, goes to show that Trance music definitely IS very much alive and the ever growing fan base. I have the privilege of meeting Simon and Alvin yet again since the last time at Gareth Emery’s, together with Alicia. Do catch both the duo in action every Saturday on Fly FM!

Never Say Never, Man On the Run, Ashes, This Moment, Lonely Girl, Out Of The Sky, Catch A Fall, Fractal Universe, Stadium Four, Faces, For An Angel, Satellite, Carte Smack, More Than You Need, On A Good Day, Sirens Of The Sea. What more could you ask for?

I haven’t had so much fun in the longest while, and the night itself was only just beginning as the following weekends were pretty much intoxicated ones. Will blog about the rest later on. Am gonna rest for a while before heading off to futsal!

Gone With The Wind

13 July 2009

To say I didn’t really enjoy my weekend would be a terrible lie, cause I certainly did. It has got to be one of the most intoxicated one after all with so much to drink and only feint memories of the nights to remember. It all started from Thursday afternoon with a can of ice cold beer at home, only to end up gulping down three. It was then that Evan called regarding the plan for that night and off we went to Luna Bar with his friend visiting.

Luna Bar still feels the same, even after 2 years since my last visit. That night was exceptionally hot and the return of the haze gave us shit view of the KL cityscape. And you know what’s worse? We ended up having 5 most expensive jugs of CARLSBERG which totaled up to a duty-free bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

So we had the pleasure of meeting Darline and the Wong siblings who are currently back here for holiday. The usual catching ups and Evan like a broken record, telling us how much he loves drinking Tsingtao beer over and over again! Good times indeed, especially with a ‘few’ drinks to go with.

And those who follow me closely on Twitter, you probably know that I became a victim of pickpocket just recently at Phuture. Will blog about it more later as I have to go grab myself lunch now. FUNGRY!

Something For You

8 July 2009

Daym, what a bloody hot day it has been! Though the streaking hot weather serves as a perfect reason for me to reaching out for another can of beer in the fridge, I should refrain from doing so since I’ve been drinking almost everyday since I got home. Two jugs of Tiger and Heineken at Finnegan’s with William yesterday afternoon and then off to Parade for dinner with Evan, Eugene and Jue made my day!

Now that Evan’s back from China, I foresee a rather intoxicating weekend ahead though it’s a shame none of us can go all the way since our designated driver is happily bumming around in Melbourne. Hahahaha! And simply cause I havent been taking enough pictures over the past week, here’s few that was captured during my last Backpacker session with the usual ones before Richmond came back home.

Cheers to those times of muka kemek, dollars spent on the music jukebox, singing our hearts out, talking and/or attracting strangers to our table and chilli malam for supper!

Not sure on where to go this coming weekend? Kick off by getting your Friday Fired Up with Fono dishing out the latest progressive trance music that is orgasmic to your ears at Zouk!

Never Say Never

4 July 2009

Having missed out on so many other Lapsap occasions, no way in hell am I going to let go this opportunity to attend what appears to be a massive 2nd private anniversary party! An ideal celebration of little more than two years of great success indeed! It’s going to be real packed and exclusive, so be early to avoid disappointment!

So yesterday officially marks the end of my first week back in KL. Never felt so contented with those time spent on food hunting and together with family and friends. The Unlinked gathering on Thursday turned out rather differently from what I had expected. The last time we met in such a group was dated back to 2006, I think? Geez, how’s everyone’s changed so drastically over the years.

And then there was also last night when I finally got the chance to meet up with Missycheerio! Took us long enough to plan an outing since someone’s a working person already ;P Hehehehehe!

Okayla gotta go now liao… Need to entertain my family members for now. Shall blog again soon enough!

Are You Gonna Be There?

1 July 2009

So we finally claimed GirlGirl’s ashes from the vet just yesterday afternoon. People would probably find it unbelievable as how we were so willing to fork out a sum of money just to cremate a pet when you could have easily disposed it. We thought otherwise, knowing that it guarantees you peace of mind, with your beloved pet being laid to rest in an orderly manner similarly to us mere being’s funeral. I cried so much, I think I ran out of tears for the next two months.

I just felt a bit dejected upon realizing that my first post back in Malaysia had to be one that is dedicated to GirlGirl for all that is left of her are memories of quality time spent together to treasure. Muffin has been real quiet lately too. She must have realized that GirlGirl is no longer around.

Life goes on! On a brighter note, I bought myself a new pair of shoes! *Tsk tsk* I know, you’re probably thinking “aiyah… old or new, all your shoes also look the same wan!“. HAHA! Then I’m sorry cause you’re wrong this time around! Or at least I think it looks different.. It really does! See!

Apart from that, I haven’t been doing much except spending quality time with family and friends just as planned. It’s been five days since I touched down from Melbourne and no, I haven’t been ill either. Subjected to scrutiny, I eventually ended up at Zouk mainroom during my first night back home for Gareth Emery’s 2 hour set. I forgot to bring my camera, just cause I was rushing my ass to get to Zouk only to end up being the first to arrive. Therefore, credit goes to Natalie for the one and only picture posted below!

Bryan and Nat came later as we chilled at Terrace for some ice cold (diluted) beer before layaning Gareth’s set. A bit tad too short but I thought it was pretty good? Faces, Formentera What?, More Than Anything, Unprepared, Lonely Girl, Made of Love, Exposure, On A Good Day, Love Story, FIND YOURSELF and This Is Silence, just to name a few.. WONG AH WAH FOR SUPPER BEST!!

Was supposed to go Urbanscapes on Saturday as well but I didn’t make it cause I had a family dinner to attend to. Eventually missed out on Uncle Fono’s set :( And the rest of the night was spent beside GirlGirl’s death bed.

Well that’s about it, I guess. Am looking forward to the coming weeks with Manchester United Asia Tour at Bukit Jalil on the 18th July, and not forgetting Lapsap 2nd Private Anniversary Party on the 15th July! Much thanks to NeeKee for getting me the ticket!

Aights… Am going out for dinner now. Shall see you all real soon!

Zouk Invasion (Four Months Ago, That Is…)

18 June 2009

It’s 1:19am and I’m physically exhausted after a productive afternoon at the gym. I am dying to retire for the night but the launching of iPhone’s new OS 3.0 is getting me all excited for no apparent reason. A bunch of us were at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to witness the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers showdown between Australia and Japan. Quite an entertaining match, with Australia’s homegrown superstar Tim Cahill scoring both goals to hand the Socceroo’s a convincing 2-1 win against Japan. Pictures and videos will come soon enough.

I’ve been wanting to blog about my rather short trip back home earlier this year but well, they don’t call me a procrastinator for no reason, ay? Probably the most eventful holiday I’ve had in the longest while. It was quality time well spent with the Yappies and friends, albeit a little short. Moreover, the efficiency of Telekom Malaysia was nothing short of appalling, having only managed to connect the Streamyx two months after we moved in to our new home!

Eish, and I had to return to Melbourne only after a month back home due to the expiring contract of my previous accommodation, which basically meant that I came back just to move out and eventually bunked over at Chin’s place for a month before we found this spacious two bedroom apartment!

Then again, it’s been a little more than four months since I got back, therefore it is only natural for me having only feint memories of what I did over the weeks when I was back home. Yes, it didn’t help either especially with the excessive amount of alcohol consumed over the course of eight years since I started drinking. NEED.TO.CUT.DOWN.ON.DRINKS.

One thing for sure though, is the fact that I spent four out of my five weekends at Zouk. No life, I know. I was already whoring Zouk after having only touched down 3 days ago, with the first night being Sister Bliss of Faithless, enjoying my double jugs of Iced Long Island Tea in almost a year. Wasn’t planning to go but William miraculously persuaded me to, and I’m actually glad that I did! Turn out was great and music was no way different.

I didn’t stay till the end of the night though, as I was gearing up for the next big day with much expectations. Ah, yes indeed. It was Armin van Buuren making a comeback after his successful Armin Only world tour (no, I haven’t blogged about Armin Only in Melbourne too) with a sold-out show at.. No prize for guessing where it was.

Right, so that’s two nights in a row already. We were fortunate enough to secure two tables, thus getting in was no hassle. The queue was insane though, as people tried getting in but to no avail as tickets allocated were 100% exhausted. Eugene and the rest had an unfortunate night though due to communication breakdown with another friend of ours, resulting in them spending the night at Terrace Bar instead.

And truth be told, I didn’t really enjoy the night that much for I wasn’t feeling too well. My tummy was aching possibly from the overdose of Long Island Tea the night before, thus missing out on the bottles of Black Label which I paid for anyway. Music was as expected from the No.1 DJ himself, thought it got a little too packed to my liking and the SMOKE! OMG… It almost killed me.

While the rest was busy working during the weekdays, I had to cover almost 100km’s of driving back and forth from Subang Jaya to Shah Alam, moving all my belongings to my new home! It was damn tiring cause we were rushing for Chinese New Year, which we just barely made it in time!

U.O.X Play was happening during the weekend itself, and Smalls being a major Lapsap fan, we decided to head down to Zouk! Having not been to a Lapsap event in a long while, I wasn’t sure of what to expect but the music was simply electronically trippy, just the way we like it!

Bumping into friends while having too much of Long Island Tea to drink, the night got a little fuzzy towards the end of the night. Met Jue and Adam after for such a long time, and we had the pleasure of enjoying a little timeout session with the rest at Aristo Bar. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves as the Moet champagnes just kept on flowing. Bottomless champagne glass.. SWEETTTT!

The situation has gotten a little bit dangerous after a while because one who drinks socially would know that mixing your alcohol is just plain suicidal. We were thankful for the opportunity to sip on those exquisite bottled bubblies but thought it would be wasteful especially on such a night we so mentally prepared to go down on something else (*hint* Long Island Tea *hint*).

We went back to the main room only to reunite with a highly intoxicated Smalls and her other friends. We left when the night ended, not remembering how we got home but woke up only to realize what a crazy night it has been! NEED.MORE.LAPSAP.NIGHTS.OUT! Hope they’re doing well @ Europe tour.

There was also the OTHER weekend which I did ended up at Velvet, only forgotten to bring my camera as we were in a rush to get to KL for an occasion. I don’t quite remember anymore but am sure the ones I went with had some pictures taken, though I’ve never seen any of them posted up! It was also a follow-up to the night of mayhem before at Mist. I guess that night deserves a post of its own.

Before that, sis and I dropped by at Zouk (yet again..) to attend the PMS x FM event at Barsonic. Met up with Chin and the rest as they too were invited to the exclusive event. Much thanks to Michelle again for the invites (and drink coupons)! That was also the very same night many got to experience the psychadelic performance by Arabyrd. The night ended with a catwalk showcase of the PMS x FM collaboration items before the local night resumed with T.A.G bringing the roof down.

Then came the inevitable as my summer holiday was coming to an end, with a last night out to Velvet before my next trip back home. The club was packed to the brim, as usual. And how we managed to get a table without any booking was still quite unbelievable. Since it was just a few of us, we decided to get a bottle and chill by the bar but the bottle finished even before the night was getting warmed up!

We had a really hard time getting the cups half filled as everyone seemed to be in the mood to drink. And so we did, like a fish if you must know. Derek and Calvin then came with their friends, who probably got us the table so much thanks to them too! And it would only be a complete night with the consumption of Iced Long Island Tea. We gladly had three jugs before I bought the last one with a little extra tip for the bartender in exchange of extra shot of each liquor.

Let’s just say that the fourth jug was a real killer, though it went perfectly well with the last song of the night, “Don’t Look Back In Anger”. It’s just amazing what the extra RM5 and a little sweet talking can do to your drinks, ay? Bumping into friends from KL and Melbourne, making new ones and reuniting with the smoke in club have never this much fun!

And no, I didn’t board the plane with a massive hangover or whatsoever. Left with a heavy heart though, yearning to go back whenever possible, which is soon. THAT’S ALL I CAN SAY FOR NOW :)

Also, contrary to many beliefs, I DID spent much time with my family besides partying my weekends away back then. Will blog about my family trip to Bangkok soon too!

Am off to bed now… And please stop thinking that I’m a party animal, when I’m actually not! :P
